Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Wikipedia. Irrelevant content and important prior content deleted[edit]

I am trying to correct the addition of irrelevant content to this entry and seeking to re-instate prior content that was deleted.Guystclair (talk) 14:38, 8 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

May 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions; however, it appears you may have written a Wikipedia article about yourself, at Guy St. Clair. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – please see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to or change an existing article about yourself, you are welcome to propose the changes by visiting the article's talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was the page I created deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss this with the deleting administrator. Thank you. –DMartin 22:37, 26 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your response, DMartin. I don't know how to use Wikipedia and I would like to delete the entry. That is what I was trying to do today. I no longer wish to have information about me in Wikipedia. Thank you for your help. Can the deleting administrator delete the entry about me? I no longer need to have content about me in Wikipedia. Thank you. Guystclair (talk) 03:47, 25 August 2020 (UTC)24 Aug 2020 (EDT)[reply]

August 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Dmartin969. I noticed that you recently removed content from Guy St. Clair without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. I noticed from your username that it appears you are trying to edit the page about yourself. This is not allowed per WP:COI. –DMartin 02:41, 25 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion contested: Guy St. Clair[edit]

Hello Guystclair. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Guy St. Clair, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Quoting WP:NOTCSD: Subject request. Sometimes somebody claiming to be the subject of a biographical article requests deletion of the article, or even blanks the article. Article subjects do not have an automatic right to have their articles deleted. Nor does such a criterion apply to namespaces other than article space: for example, pages in the Wikipedia namespace devoted to a discussion about a particular editor. See also: Wikipedia:Deletion policy#Deletion of biographies and BLPs. Thank you. BangJan1999 14:10, 29 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your message. What can I do? Shall I re-work the article and just hope it will be accepted? I don't mind having a biographical article about myself on Wikipedia (as I said, I respect Wikipedia as an important tool and I support the Wikipedia Foundation) but I don't know how to deal with making the changes noted by some of the editors at others times, in particular Dmartin969 in 2020. Or should I just create a new entry and have both the new entry and the bad one on Wikipedia? Really need some help here. People who look me up note how bad the current article is and I don't know how to fix it. Is there a consultant who can help me? Thanks again. If you make edit requests on the Talk page of the article, other editors can chip in and help. Since it has ben nominated for deletion recently, I have made a number of edits to the article. If you have other information or ideas you can ither post it to the article talk page or to my own talk page, and I will try to help. Qflib (talk) 00:02, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
