Welcome![edit]

Hello, HYPErBeamEGC, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was user:HYPErBeamEGC/sandbox, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! — rsjaffe 🗣️ 20:21, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Draft:EverGrow, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hey Maddy, I'm a moderator for the cryptocurrency token "EverGrow" who was trying to get a page started for the project. I'm not sure what steps or sources that are needed to get it started. But any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks HYPErBeamEGC (talk) 20:41, 7 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
First, you should review WP:COI and WP:PAID and make the necessary disclosures if applicable. Then, read Wikipedia:Your first article and if you believe the subject is notable, submit a draft though Wikipedia:Articles for creation. Also, be aware that cryptocurrency-related topics are under community-authorized general sanctions:
This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Due to past disruption in this topic area, the community has authorised uninvolved administrators to impose discretionary sanctions—such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks—on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, expected standards of behaviour, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on these sanctions. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Thanks. I just resubmitted it through the Articles for creation page with additional references and acknowledgements of both the COI and PAID. Stinks about the bad apples and negative news within crypto, but I absolutely understand the sanctions put in place because of it all. Any other recommendations (if needed) will be great, and thanks again. HYPErBeamEGC (talk) 21:37, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Your "acknowledgements of both the COI and PAID" was limited to writing "Both WP:COI & WP:PAID have been reviewed before publication, with no conflicts found." Surely that conflicts with your stated role as a moderator? The text you have added were just taken from https://evergrowegc.com/learn-more/. Given that the licence used by that website is not compatible with Wikipedia's licensing, you should not be just copying text from them. The tone is more of a promotional leaflet than an encyclopaedic article – why was it written in the first person? Sdrqaz (talk) 22:42, 17 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

As a discord moderator I’m not paid or part of the team in anyway so it’s not conflicting in anyways. But sure, I can see the confusion there. But if acknowledging both the COI and PAID in that way isn’t legitimate, then what’s the route to show that? Also, when going through the list of rules of “Articles of Creation” before getting to the edit page there’s a line that states that citing the businesses website is doable. If not the website, would articles written by others acceptable? Or is it just the “license” of the website that’s not acceptable? And if so, can you explain exactly what that means? When it comes to the first person part of things, that makes perfect sense. I can easily change every “our” into “their” if that fixes things. HYPErBeamEGC (talk) 01:00, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
