  Alpine Skiing Rename/Move

  I think you made a big mistake by changing Alpine... 2017 to 2016-17. I am the chief cook and bottle washer over there and have re-wikied the sight over the past 2 seasons to make it a superior quality product. The FIS ski folks refer to their year as the "2017 Season". They are the source of 200+ reference links and those links all have pull down menus that state the Season... 2017, or 2016, or 2015, etc... The first 49 years of FIS (on WikiP) are all still YYYY, not YYYY-YY. Are you going to change those too? The guy that cruised in to the Article and suggested the change is North Finnish (on our English sight) and simply wants to make it look like all of the X-C skiing and Speed skating sights he has been trying to make look the way he wants. Change it back. Again - chief cook & bottle washer here with what feels like a bazillion edits on the topic. I am ready to walk away and let this, and future season article pages turn into roadkill pancakes, and similar disrepair.

No policy argument was made for denying the move. I haven't renamed further articles because no official request has been made, but I would evaluate those requests when and if they are made. You are welcome to officially contest this at the move review page, where other editors/administrators can give input into whether they believe my closure was correct. Your significant contributions to the article does not mean you have some sort of "super vote" as to what happens -- you do not own the article. Finally, I welcome any editor to make a suggestion for any article as long as consensus is gained, no matter what their nationality is. We are here to collaborate and work together. Skiing[edit]

Hi :) Just wanted to stop by and say that I think you're doing a great job with the World Cup article. As for individual discipline's articles, I wonder if there wouldn't be a better way of combining total points and the placement in the individual race? I don't have the optimal idea at the moment. Hello, HacksawFW. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
