Embarcadero Technologies[edit]

Welcome! I notice you've made a lot of minor corrections to Embarcadero Technologies. Thank you for that. Are you in any way involved with the company, either editing on their behalf or employed by them? —Locke Coletc 18:17, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings, yes I'm a Product Marketing Manager for Embarcadero Technologies. Cutting my teeth on Wikipedia with minor edits that improve readability without impacting meaning or accuracy of information. HagopP-Editor (talk) 18:30, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please do tread carefully. I don't think there are any issues with edits you've made thus far, but there is an understandable fear of editors contributing to subjects they're paid to edit/promote adding conflicts of interest or otherwise introducing bias in our articles. You must also disclose this affiliation with the subject either on your user page, or on the article talk page. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure for more (I would strongly recommend reading that entire page before continuing to contribute in article-space; if you have more questions feel free to ask here or at WP:TEAHOUSE). —Locke Coletc 19:10, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, absolutely. That's why I kept the edits to the most inconsequential. HagopP-Editor (talk) 19:20, 15 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again, I just submitted a draft page for YellowfinBI for review. Please review at the first opportunity.

Yellowfin-Bi[edit]

If you have a conflict of interest, you must declare it. If you work directly or indirectly for an organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. If you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:HagopP-Editor. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=HagopP-Editor|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message. Also read the following regarding writing an article:

  • you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the organisation or company, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, logs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company or organisation claims or interviewing its management. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
  • The notability guidelines for organisations and companies have been updated. The primary criteria has five components that must be evaluated separately and independently to determine if it is met:
  1. significant coverage in
  2. independent,
  3. multiple,
  4. reliable,
  5. secondary sources.
Note that an individual source must meet all four criteria to be counted towards notability.
  • You must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews.
  • There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:25, 23 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, not sure why my username is dubious, it consists of my first name and the first letter of my last name HagopP for Hagop Panosian. It does not in any way represent a group, club, organization, company, or website. HagopP-Editor (talk) 13:30, 23 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Jimfbleak: Were you planning on replying to HagopP-Editor? Also, whatever template you used above is broken, please consider fixing it or linking it so I can fix it. —Locke Coletc 00:20, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Locke Cole: I wasn't planning to reply because I wasn't pinged and wasn't expecting a reply to the messages above. My block was clearly incorrect; I'd guess that I was intending a hard block for undisclosed paid editing, but hit the wrong menu item. I'll unblock, but HagopP-Editor, the first thing you must do when you are unblocked is to go to User:HagopP-Editor and post and save the following as you see it here: {{paid|user= HagopP-Editor|employer=Embarcadero Technologies}} Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:01, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Jimfbleak understood. HagopP-Editor (talk) 10:03, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Jimfbleak @Locke Cole disclosure inserted on my page. HagopP-Editor (talk) 13:02, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Are you sure? I can't see it on User:HagopP-Editor, where it is required to be, and your comments above are the only edits you have made since my message Jimfbleak - talk to me? 13:53, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Jimfbleak Try again now HagopP-Editor (talk) 13:54, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Jimfbleak did you get my message above? I want to publish a revised edition of the YellowfinBI page. HagopP-Editor (talk) 20:04, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Greetings again. I have a revised version of the page on Yellowfin-BI, with all unsuitable content removed. Given the existing disclosure about paid content creation and my indirect connection to the company, can I publish a new version of the page? HagopP-Editor (talk) 19:52, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You are free to create a draft when you are ready. You must then wait for it to be reviewed by an AFC reveiwer because of your COI Jimfbleak - talk to me? 10:52, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Jimfbleak the draft is ready, how do I proceed? I can't seem to be able to create anything. Can you let me know how I can submit a new draft for review? HagopP-Editor (talk) 11:06, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I can't see a draft in your contributions, but just go to Wikipedia:Articles_for_creation and press the blue button to start Jimfbleak - talk to me? 12:17, 14 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Jimfbleak I just created an updated page for YellowfinBI and submitted it for review. I removed everything from the previous version that might by construed as promotional in nature, sticking to just the facts about the company. Here it is: Draft:YellowfinBI HagopP-Editor (talk) 20:16, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
