Request for Usurpation=[edit]

Hello, Halpern, a.d.. A request has been made at Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations to usurp, or "take over", your username because you have not used it to edit, and another user would like to use it to edit. Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations says that any unused username may be usurped if the user is given seven days notice to object and does not do so.

If you have an email set in your preferences, you should be getting an email from a bureaucrat or changing username clerk explaining how to consent or object to this process.

If you do not object to being renamed to a new username in order for another user to utilize the name you currently have, please log in and post a reply here saying so (you may also tell us what username you would like to be renamed to, or we will provide you with a generic one).

If you do nothing: the request will be filled after seven days, and your account will be moved to a generic username. You may request that it be moved to a new username of your choice at any time.

If you object to being renamed: please log in and make an edit. You may make an edit here saying "No," you may make an edit to blank this page, or any other edit you like; making any edit at all prevents your username from being usurped, because users with edits cannot have their usernames usurped.

Please note this does not prevent you from editing, or cause you to lose any data; all your preferences, watchlist, and other user settings will be transferred to a new username if your current one is usurped.

Username[edit]

I notice you made a request for usurpation of Halpern, A.D. However, I am confused. As best I can tell, you were initially Adhalpern, then Halpern, a.d., and now you wish for the A & D to be capitalized, correct? If so, you might just want to create the account, as it does not exist, and you have no edits really to move over. Clarification would be appreciated. i ^said 23:43, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Username change[edit]

It's weird. I originally made "Halpern, a.d.", but didn't like the lowercase "a.d.", so I tried to create "Halpern, A.D.". However, the similarity between the two prevented me from creating "Halpern, A.D.", so I created "adhalpern" so I could usurp the name and change it to "Halpern, A.D.".

The current name is Halpern, a.d. correct? And you would like the a d to be capitalized? The username with the A.D. capitalized does not exist, so you could be renamed to it without usurping anything. However, I might suggest just requesting the account be created, and using that one, since there are no substantial contributions made on this account you need to worry about being reattributed. i ^said 04:10, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
