Vandal

Hi. Other than "putting things right", is there anything else I should do about a vandal? I see that in the law firm Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal someone added about the firm's chair that he was a dushbag.

Thanks for any guidance.--Ludasaphire (talk) 00:49, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

No problem. :) As for vandals, it's a good idea to give the appropriate warning ( Warning templates) on their talk page, both for the person vandalizing, as well as to help other editors to know if the person they're warning has been warned recently. Enough warnings in a given span of time can lead to said user being banned. -HamatoKameko (talk) 13:17, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
Makes sense. Thanks!--Ludasaphire (talk) 13:29, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, HamatoKameko, I've got two additional questions:
First, if the vandal is an IP user (identified only by an IP address) is it still appropriate to put the warning on their talk page? I did that, just checking to be sure that's right in these cases.
Second, what's the proper etiquite for talking back and forth. I wrote on your discussion page (and then click on Watch to be sure I could see any response). I notice that you then put our discussion back on my page. Does that generally mean that I should continue the discussion on my page (and not here)? And is it better, initially, to start the discussion on my own page and simply have a short link or something on the other's page indicating to come look at my page? I hope you understand the question. Thanks again.--Ludasaphire (talk) 13:41, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
