Regarding edits made during February 20 2007[edit]

Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a mere directory of links nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that exist to attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam policies for further explanations of links that are considered appropriate. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. – Luna Santin (talk) 23:34, 20 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

{{unblock|Handsome Prints is NOT a commercial username. It is an e-mail address and Yahoo Messenger nickname I have been using for many years. I only chose the pseudonym because Handsome Prince was taken. I post under Handsome Prints on a multitude of forums, without any commercial ties. I would appreciate it if I could keep this same name as my Wikipedia user name rather than try to come up with another alias. I have grown comfortable with this name and it wouldn't feel right using another name here on Wikipedia. Also, my actual name (Ken) is not available.}}

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

I have unblocked you so that you can participate in the RFC (see link below). I left your request above visible as it contains the reason for your choice of a name, which would probably be meaningful for anyone taking a look at your page to offer an opinion on the appropriateness of your name.

Why is it, then, that the only thing you had on your userpage was a commercial link? Gdo01 00:22, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am the webmaster for the link that I posted on my user page (which has nothing at all to do with my username). I post (or use) the pseudonym "Handsome Prints" on: MCSE, SitePoint, WebProWorld, SEOChat, IAmNotAGeek, JimWorld, BearShare, RagingBull, 80sxchange.com, TVTome, Reunion.com, NeoPets, ClassicTVFavorites, to name a few... I thought I was allowed to include a biography about myself on my user page (in addition to posting articles). Keep in mind I just signed up a few minutes ago, I was just testing the system out! I had no idea my own personal page was subject to review like this, I mean it's not an article, just my user page, unless I am not understanding correctly... As I am a "guest" on Wikipedia, I am perfectly willing to respect the guidelines. I just haven't had a chance to review them all yet! Naturally I would have read more before posting articles, but I did not realize there were such "strict" rules on my user page.
Having a link to your personal homepage is one thing ... but having a link to a commercial website and no other content is generally not looked upon kindly. Please see Wikipedia:User page for a general discussion. As for your username, based on your statement that this is not the name of a business, I see no problem with unblocking you and have raised this issue on Wikipedia:Requests for comment/User names. Barring any objections there, I will unblock you shortly. --BigDT 00:58, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have unblocked you for now. Please visit WP:RFCN and offer your thoughts on your name there. Thanks. ---BigDT 01:08, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
