Katie's edits for Dinnie[edit]

Hi Dinnie,

I really like your subject, she seems really interesting. I think you have a ton of really good information, and it's written really well. My only real issue is that some of it seems a bit editorialized? It would be excellent in a book, but seems maybe a bit too flowery for a wiki entry. Also be careful about words like "only" "so long" "successfully" and only use them when they're really necessary. She was definitely a really impressive lady, but for an entry like this, I think the tone needs to be more factual and less inspirational if that makes sense.

Hi Dinnie!

I seriously love your article! You added so much and it read extremely well. You managed to keep a neutral tone while telling Patten's story in a very engaging and well organized way. She sounds like a very interesting woman from what you wrote. You did a great job of providing citations for the quotes and the reported relationships between Patten and others on the ship. If someone was trying to find out more about her, you provided very straightforward ways to find further reading. Overall it was a great read and your research appears very thorough. If I had to critique something, I would say perhaps you could add some information about her life post-voyage to bridge the gap from landfall (?) and her death. Did she ever sail again, did she have another profession, did she focus on motherhood, etc? I know you may have considered this, and that finding out about her post-voyage life may have easily been limited by the breadth of information available about her life, but thought I'd throw it out there! Great job!!
