- I'll go over them all and compare them to my file. If anything is missing, I'll add them.--Harout72 (talk) 01:26, 20 November 2021 (UTC)
- The song "Princess of China" has two separate release dates. One is Platinum, the other Gold, they both should be counted. But I had 3x Platinum for "Paradise", not sure why. I'll correct it. But the total still is 34.105 million.--Harout72 (talk) 01:40, 20 November 2021 (UTC)
ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message
Question: Denmark
Hello Harout. What is the proceed with those certifications of Denmark when an album have gone Platinum/Gold in the early database and in the new one. See Thriller for example or Celebration by Madonna. We can keep both, just one, or the newer certs will be summed based on release year? Thanks and Happy New 2022. --Apoxyomenus (talk) 16:57, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
- Happy New Year. There are two issues of Thriller in Denmark. The first/original one has been certified 6x Platinum for 480,000 units (posted in 2008, but most likely certified much earlier). The re-issued Thriller is so far certified 3x Platinum for 60,000 units in 2021. So both should be listed separately. As for Madonna's Celebration, it's so far been certified 2x Platinum for 40,000 units in 2021. Is there another certification for Celebration you're seeing?--Harout72 (talk) 17:13, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
- Not I haven't seen another cert for Celebration; except the Platinum in 2010 and the new one in 2021 already included in the article but it brought to my attention similar cases like Thriller and if the amount of newer certs (for example, the Platinum cert was supossed to be 30,000 units in 2010) will be the same for old releases like Celebration. --Apoxyomenus (talk) 17:24, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
- All the certifications we have for Celebration is for the same issue, the Gold in 2009 for 15,000 units, the Platinum in 2010 for 30,000 units, and the 2x Platinum for 40,000 units in 2021. Note that since mid 2012, IFPI Denmark has been applying their newer/recent levels to all albums/singles regardless of release dates. So, since it's the same issue that has been certified over the years, only the highest certification should be listed.--Harout72 (talk) 17:32, 3 January 2022 (UTC)

Chris Brown's several missing certification.
Hello! Harout72, I received Chris Brown's detailed certified sales file last year from you. I think some of Chris Brown's records certification is missing in the mean time. Ah, first of all, The most recent date of the certified sales file I received from you was (August 11th 2020.)
- Chris Brown & Young Thug - "Go Crazy" - 2× Platinum (Canada). this song was re-certified in April 20, 2021. (source)
- Jack Harlow - "Already Best Friends ft. Chris Brown" - Gold (Canada). this song was certified October 21, 2021. (source)
- Kid Ink - "Body Language ft. Usher & Tinashe" - Gold (Canada). check out Chris Brown's Canadian certified sales list. This song is written incorrectly, it is featured by Usher, not Chris Brown. (source)
- Rick Ross - "Sorry ft. Chris Brown" - Gold (US). (source)
- Deorro x Chris Brown - "Five More Hours" - Platinum (Poland). (source)
- Pia Mia - "Do It Again ft. Chris Brown & Tyga" - Gold (Poland). (source)
- Deorro x Chris Brown - "Five More Hours" - Platinum (Spain). (/source)
- Pitbull - "International Love ft. Chris Brown" - Gold (Spain). (/source)
- Mr. Probz - "Waves (Robin Schulz Remix) ft. Chris Brown & T.I." - Platinum (Spain). (/source)
- Rvssian, Rauw Alejandro & Chris Brown - "Nostalgico" - 2× Platinum (Spain). (/source)
It seems the total certified units of Spanish certifications is over 100,000 units. Please check the list above and could you send me the updated file again? Thank you.--HeartbreakOnAFullMoon (talk) 07:21, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
- The Platinum for "Waves" in Spain is for all versions and not just the Remixed version, therefore, it should be left out. See (https://www.promusicae.es/listas/semanales SEMANA 14: del 30.03.2015 al 05.04.2015). Here is the updated file.--Harout72 (talk) 14:05, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
Japan Sales
Hello, good evening (Peru), sorry but I would like to know if the figure of 100.00 figures can be applied to your album "Laundry Service" which according to the Oricon book has sold 100,000 copies in Japanese territory, that is equivalent to a certification of gold. I don't know if you can put it since Cher and Adele do come out with 100,000 copies in Japan. On the Laundry Service page you can verify that the book says about 100,000 sales. AlexanderShakifan29 (talk) 03:02, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
- Unless it's certified we don't add sales figures. Japan so far doesn't have any certs for Shakira.--Harout72 (talk) 05:41, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
How far are Oasis from getting to 75 million albums and do you have a worldwide sales total for Be Here Now?
Hi how are you ? Can you tell me how far away Oasis are from hitting the 75million sales mark ?. Can you also give me a worldwide total for Be Here Now please ?
Kind Regards 31.200.149.95 (talk) 17:58, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
- Their available certified sales so far stand at 48.5 million units. The available certified units for Be Here Now are 4.3 million.--Harout72 (talk) 18:16, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
To be honest that answer does not give me any answer to my question. 48.5 million certified units is not their total amount of album sales as I know they have sold more than 70 million. Can you clear this up for me please ?. Worldwide Be Here Now had passed 8 million in 2016. So what is it's total now please.? Kind Regards 31.200.149.95 (talk) 18:32, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
- Those figures you're speaking of whether their total being 70 million or the total being 8 million for Be Here Now are inflated figures tossed about by their record company. Based on the worldwide certified sales, their total records sales should be around 55-60 million. And the total for Be Here Now based on the available certified sales should be around 5-6 million.--Harout72 (talk) 18:37, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
I remember you saying on here previously that Oasis needed to reach just over 50 million certified sales to get on the artists list of sales for 75 million. Is that still correct ?31.200.149.95 (talk) 18:40, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
If I remember correctly it was due to some new information that came to light about downloads or streaming or something. 31.200.149.95 (talk) 18:42, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
- Those artists that have begun charting on official albums/singles charts in 1994, need to have 54.6 million certified units to be on the "List of best-selling music artists" with 75 million claimed figures.--Harout72 (talk) 18:44, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
So obviously Oasis need 6 million more certified sales ?. Where can I keep a track of your list please ? 31.200.149.95 (talk) 18:48, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
- You can ask me to provide you their detailed certified sales once every six months here on my talk. As it stands right now, this is it.--Harout72 (talk) 19:16, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
Hi when I click on the link you have given me it says app.mediafire and is a blank page ? Regards 31.200.149.95 (talk) 19:20, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
- Sorry about that, try this.--Harout72 (talk) 19:27, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
Thanks I got the link now. appreciate it. I will be in touch in the future so to see how close their sales are to that mark. Kind Regards 80.233.91.22 (talk) 18:25, 26 January 2022 (UTC)
UK
Hi, "Material Girl" was certified Gold in the United Kingdom this year, but seems that those sales weren't added. At least, that's what Madonna's file suggests. Cheers, --Apoxyomenus (talk) 02:22, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
- It was certified last year. I seem to have it on my file, you probably have an older version of the file. I've also added it to the list back in December.--Harout72 (talk) 02:38, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
- True. That's what happened. Regards, --Apoxyomenus (talk) 03:44, 8 February 2022 (UTC)
Justin Bieber’s Canadian Sales
Hi Harout72. I think you missed a certification for "Peaches" which is certified 6x Platinum for selling 480,000 units in Canada. Wanted to let you know. --Beemer03 (talk) 08:30, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
Adele's sales
Hi Harout72. I found 67 million certified units in the US and 36.9 million in the UK for Adele. Can you verify when you have time? --Oroborvs (talk) 21:00, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
- I went over both US and UK certified sales just now, the US certified sales stand at 66.5 million, just as I have on my file, but I seem to have 200,000 additional units in the total for UK. It should be 31.850 million. Here is the file I have for Adele, let me know if you see anything missing. Harout72 (talk) 22:29, 30 May 2022 (UTC)
- Hi. So okay; thanks for the file, awesome. When do you update Adele's UK sales figures? I don't see anything missing, but what surprises me is that SNEP has nothing for Adele's 21, which is "supposed" to have sold well in France, but I found a gold UPFI certified sales of 50,000 copies. 21 reportedly sold 500,000 copies in France in November 2011 and reached 1,5 million copies by December 2012.--Oroborvs (talk) 18:41, 31 May 2022 (UTC)
- SNEP might issue certifications for all Adele's singles/albums that have reached cert levels a late. Record companies pay only one cert fee for getting records certified for multiple Platinum/Diamond levels. Harout72 (talk) 02:12, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
- I phoned the SNEP. SNEP does not have the sales figures for Adele's singles/albums released before 2016 (19, 20, 25). It is GFK that has these figures in its database because it is GFK that collected this before 2016. These sales figures would be transferred to SNEP on an unknown date. Now the SNEP collects data from the from the Official Charts Company. A chartered accountant from SNEP examines all the figures before creating a certification. --Oroborvs (talk) 18:55, 1 June 2022 (UTC)
- Interesting, hopefully we'll see Adele's and other artists sales certified by SNEP soon. Harout72 (talk) 19:54, 1 June 2022 (UTC)

Madonna's Ray of Light
Hi Harout. How are you?. I see that now you're also involve in the list of best-selling album of all time and I need your help and opinion. If you have much time. Do you have the new and completed certification sales of Madonna's Ray of Light. Is it any possibility that album sold 20 million?. Need your help if you have a time. Thank you. Politsi (talk) 03:34, 25 July 2022 (UTC) I'm good, how about yourself? The certified sales of Ray of Light comes to 12.7 million, that includes 7 million in Europe and 4 million in the US. I'd say that album may have sold some 15-17 million. Anything above that is highly unlikely.--Harout72 (talk) 12:13, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
- I'm good also. Thank you for your help. Politsi (talk) 02:21, 26 July 2022 (UTC)
Request for Comment
Could you read up on the conversation we're having on the talk page (section titled Fundamental Article Issues) for the list of best selling music artists? You've put a lot of work into the article, and I think we ought to have your input on potential changes to the standards for inclusion. (Specifically, the certification percentage threshold for inclusion of artists.) I think we really ought to have your perspective on the record before we move to a vote on the matter.
I want to be clear that I believe you're an extremely dedicated editor and have improved the page immensely, and I truly believe we can come to a consensus on this matter. There's evidently been some conflict between various editors in the past, but I believe we can look past that and not fall back into old arguments. Pacack (talk) 20:02, 14 August 2022 (UTC)
- True, I've been involved in editing and improving that list for over a decade. However, there has never been any conflict between me and editors that have shown real interest in improving the list. The only conflict I've come across, has been with those who unfairly have tried to promote their favorite artists, and demote other artists, using the list's system in the process as an excuse. From my years of being involved with the list, I'm convinced that the reason why we have some level of accuracy on the list is because of the way the list is with all of its requirements for certifcations.
- As far as your case, I too believe that some of Bing Crosby's initial releases might have gone uncertified in the US, at least until 1958. However, bare in mind that the RIAA has always certified singles and albums of all formats retroactively. In other words, had Bing Crosby really sold 200 million records, the RIAA would have certified lot more album and single copies than just 7 million units. So it is my understanding that Bing Crosby might have sold 50 million records or a bit more, but it's most definitely not 200 million as some news outlets claim. List
Harout. How are you?. Do you still involve in the list?. I'm sorry for asking this. Thanks. Politsi (talk) 07:50, 19 August 2022 (UTC)
Just come back, Please
@Harout72 come on, just come back to the List. You've been editing the list for 15 years and we make it incredible for 10 years. Just because some opinion or disagree by other editor. It doesn't mean you leave your work after all this years working together. Just come back, please. I know you were there. Thanks. Politsi (talk) 06:55, 26 August 2022 (UTC)
Oasis woldwide album sales
Hi are they close to the 75 million album mark yet please ?. If not how far away are they now please ? 92.251.148.109 (talk) 21:45, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
- Actually, we're after all of their records sales (Albums, singles, videos), not just albums sales. For 75 million records, they'd need 54.6 million certified units to enter the list, their certified sales are so far at 50.1 million.--Harout72 (talk) 22:08, 25 July 2022 (UTC)
They have gone over 52.6 million sales in the uk alone in the last few weeks with big numbers added on, if there are sales in other european countries or worldwide they may have reached the 54.6 mark, they are close now, Regards 80.233.56.140 (talk) 22:02, 21 September 2022 (UTC)
Hi and what number would they need to hit for the 80 million mark please ?. 31.200.170.148 (talk) 04:08, 11 August 2022 (UTC)
