Agreed that this is the best place for further discussion of the article. Discussions between three or more people really need a single page on which to take place, rather than being split over numerous pages.

Presumably you don't want the aricle to turn into a list of every overseas player who played in county cricket, so what are your criteria for inclusion? Are you going to limit it strictly to players, as Jim Phillips was an Australian umpire who came to England and umpired in county cricket and might be someone who would be interesting to include? He played a major role in stamping out throwing.

In 1968 counties for the first time were allowed to have one overseas player who hadn't fulfilled the residential qualification, and so the floodgates opened. (See 1968 English cricket season.) Before that overseas players had to qualify by residence for two years before they could play in a Championship match, so the numbers were far smaller. In addition to those whom we've mentioned already, I thought of the following (in approximately chronological order): Billy Murdoch (Aus), Albert Trott (Aus), Frank Tarrant (Aus), Sydney Smith, Reggie Schwarz (played Tests for SA, though he was born in England and lived there till age 28 or so), K.S. Duleepsinhji (India - played for England), Nawab of Pataudi Sr. (India - played for England), Stewie Dempster (NZ), Martin Donnelly (NZ), Bruce Dooland (Aus), Doug Ring (Aus), Colin McCool (Aus), Roy Marshall (WI), Bill Alley (Aus), Peter Wight (WI), Stuart Leary (SA), Gamini Goonesena (SL), Khalid Ibadulla (Pak), Clive Inman (SL), Stanley Jayasinghe (SL).
