Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Harshal Srinivasu, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Kathathmikaa, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

About your pages

[edit]

Hi, Harshal, I'm the admin who reviewed the speedy deletion requests that EN-Jungwon put on your pages. I'm afraid that I agree with their assessment, and I've deleted the pages. I know that's disappointing for you, but ultimately, Wikipedia is not the right place for these kinds of pages. Wikipedia is not a place to spread the word about something that exists; it's only for recording information that has already been written elsewhere. If anything, the intent is for Wikipedia to be the last place for information about a particular subject to be published. This is ultimately due to Wikipedia's core tenet of verifiability, that all information on Wikipedia can be cited to a reliable source that supports it. This is important because, at the end of the day, a citation to a reliable source is the only way we can know that the information we have is accurate.

Also, Wikipedia strongly discourages people from writing articles about themselves. This is due to the inherent conflict of interest that would prevent one from being able to write from a neutral point-of-view about oneself, which Wikipedia requires. It's also worth noting that exposure on Wikipedia is not always a good thing, and can attract unpleasantness from vandals and the like. So you should seriously reconsider wanting to write an article about yourself.

Like I say, I'm sorry that that's probably pretty disappointing. It's absolutely nothing personal towards you; these standards apply to everyone and everything. If you have any more questions, let me know. Writ Keeper  09:57, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
