Sorry to trouble you about this, but I wonder if you would be so kind as to have a look at the debate at DYK here. The suggestion appears to have become "stuck" because of comments that I regard as inappropriate for DYK (and IMO wrong). If you would like to make a comment, I should be grateful; if not, no worry. - Hi Peter, talk-page stalking here, but I wonder whether it would help improve the article, and the potential hooks, if you used some more non-NCT sources e.g. through Google News such as this NCT-based story that nearly 10% of British churches are in a poor or very poor condition. Shifting the focus of the hook slightly away from the NCT itself to the battle that it faces might reduce the unintentional impression about which that particular editor seems to be concerned. --BencherliteTalk 15:19, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks to both; point taken. I've added some material from a secondary source (a book). I've not used the news item (above) because it's not really a none-NCT source, being based on a survey done by the NCT and published on their website (I guess the press obtained this either from the website or a press release). My purpose in expanding a two-sentence stub on the Trust was to pave the way for improving the Churches Conservation Trust article. It would be good to get this to GA standard, and then we can have a FT with that and the five lists. (Or we could even do something larger, based on the preservation of church buildings, involving the Friends of Friendless Churches and the Historic Chapels Trust).--Peter I. You have anything on this? Ooo, great. Would love to build it like we did with the other inn article. I have my eyes on Rye Castle Museum also. Folkington
Hello again. If you should be anywhere near Folkington (dead-end minor road going south off the A27 between Wilmington and Polegate) on your trip to/from Rye, might you be able to visit the churchyard and photograph the gravestone of Elizabeth David? I've been there, but without a camera, and (from memory) it's easy to find, somewhere around the path from the gate to the church. Commons has images of the church but not the grave, and a shot of the grave would enhance the end of the (featured) article. No problem if this is inconvenient/pouring with rain/stuck in traffic jams, etc. Best. --GuillaumeTell 16:32, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

- Congrats on the GA! I've [found a source of C19 newspapers online via the British Library which might be useful for adding in additional details in the push for FA if you want to go down that route.
