To The Watery Side of the World
Off to work for somewhere between 3 and 6 months. On the bright side, when I get back I'll be able to replace all the equipment I lost in the fire and actually be able to contribute regularly again. Will check in as possible, but it'll probably be more like monthly rather than weekly. Cheers. HausTalk 13:05, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
- Travel safe. Keep the freight side up.--Fishdecoy 00:14, 20 October 2007 (UTC)

- Hey, thanks! Looks like it's about 3 weeks on land then back to Asian waters, but I wanna get some recreational editing in in the meantime. :) Wassup with you? HausTalk 03:14, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- It's been kinda quiet on the Wikipedia maritime front without you. Glad you are getting in some recreational edits. Meantime, Haus, I am wondering if you could contact me at: bunney(at)yahoo[dot]com. I am working on a seafaring manuscript for which I would be delighted to have the opportunity to interview you.--Fishdecoy (talk) 16:28, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Sailors union of the pacific.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Sailors union of the pacific.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 20:40, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Help with Labor Related Page
Noticed you edit regulary on the labor portal. Can you provide some assistance with the labor related page Dirty, Dangerous and Demeaning. There is an edit war between if 3D work is high paying blue-collar work represented by organized labor or is it low-wage undesirable work done by immigrant untouchables. The differences and importance of the pages proper representation is obvious. All the references to organized labor is repeatedly deleted from the page by an editor. I tried including the global migrant worker issues with another round of deletions by the other editor.Granite07 (talk) 21:47, 10 February 2008 (UTC)
Cite Book
Thankyou so much for your advice, I was desperately hoping there was a tool to help. So that ref that I changed is correct now (LOL I only wanna do this once)? Ryan4314 (talk) 16:30, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- My pleasure. The criterion for being "right" is just that you put in as much info as you can find. I see author, year, title, publisher, page, isbn and a link to the book. The only thing I'd add is "|accessdate=2008-03-10" Cheers. HausTalk 16:56, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

MSC
Haus, what would you think of reducing the MSC logo size on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_Sealift_Command ? The size of the image overwhelms the page. I tried reducing to one column, but couldn't get the table to follow suit.Fishdecoy (talk) 17:26, 23 March 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:MEBA union logo.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:MEBA union logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:24, 27 March 2008 (UTC)
