Say, why'd you welcome me as well as Soni? --Hawk talk|contribs 10:22, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If you mean both of them welcoming you... they're both saying welcome! Nice sig btw. -- (T) Numbermaniac (C) 10:25, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. --Hawk talk|contribs 10:29, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption

[edit]

Here's your adoption official page. Follow the instructions instructed at the page. Now I have exams and it'll end tomorrow so I'll be a bit busy till tomorrow also going offline now. So you'll not get any reply today. But start working from today and Good Luck.--Pratyya (Hello!) 11:03, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Have fun, but you spelt adoption wrong in the title: "Adotion". -- (T) Numbermaniac (C) 11:05, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Just a note to let you know I fixed your addition of your userbox to this page - it was just a minor formatting issue! The box is now there at the top of the page. Thanks for making it up and adding it! - Ahunt (talk) 12:06, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I didn't know what was wrong with it, so I just got rid of it. Thanks again! --Hawk talk|contribs 16:59, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No problem, if you check my edit you will see how I formatted it, so that next time you can see your userbox displayed right! If it causes you problems in the future feel free to drop me a note! - Ahunt (talk) 01:00, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I'll do that :). --Hawk talk|contribs 01:02, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

[edit]

Hi,

I'm glad you decided to create an account. Although you like to joke about being a Wikipuppy, make sure that the bulk (majority) of your edits go to articles, you'll earn a ton of respect from many other valuable contributors and also, administrators will also respect you greatly if you make most of your contributions to article space, it is also very rewarding, people will trust you with various tools, such as reviewer and rollbacker. If you need help with articles, email me. Try not to engage in large discussion. In the end, your X!'s Edit counter pie chart should look something like this. To minimize edits to user space (aka wanting to make a pretty user page, then email me so we can come up with a design (I'd recommend doing something that is quick and nice-looking). Anyway, welcome as a registered Wikipedian. Happy editing. WT101 (ChatCount) 12:57, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the advice. I'll look into it. --Hawk talk|contribs 20:18, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How about getting started on some edits?

[edit]

Hey,

I notice your adoption program is already started. Why dont you start off by trying some edits at Special:GettingStarted? :) I think that should give you some good experience with editing here.

TheOriginalSoni (talk) 20:19, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yup, will do. --Hawk talk|contribs 20:29, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hehe... But I still have one question: earlier, in the comment after the one about the chocolate page being protected, why exactly did you call me "Sweetie"? Was it supposed to be a joke because of the chocolate? Lol :P --HAWK drop me a linesee what I do 22:55, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I was joking LOL, what is this some sort of Wiki-Date?!?! Prabash.Akmeemana 23:41, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Nice joke. And it is NOT a Wiki-Date, it is discussing... oh, nevermind. I was going to use some big words, but I couldn't think of any --HAWK drop me a linesee what I do 00:10, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
So... You want to work on some articles? P.S I really want a barnstar from you Prabash.Akmeemana 00:28, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How...? --Hawk talk|contribs 01:25, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Try going to your preferences and go to gadgets and enable Twinkle. Prabash.Akmeemana 01:47, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Doesn't show it... --Hawk talk|contribs 01:54, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh wait, you don't have the confirmed user right yet, though you can still fight vandalism, go on Recent changes on the tab on your left and look for bad edits and undo them. Prabash.Akmeemana 02:00, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
At the time of this post you're only 19 hours old, Autoconfirmed users must be four days old and have ten edits, the latter of which you've already done. -- (T) Numbermaniac (C) 02:06, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A caution

[edit]

Hi Hawkmist,

I went to check in on you and I must say that I'm very disappointed in you. You have barely made any article edits. You have to give up all this socializing and Wikipuppy crap. I understand you're under adoption, but you need to contribute to the encyclopedia, instead of posting on other users' talks: Guess who I am?...Look at me, I'm registered! You can't do that kind of stuff. I'll help you out as much as I can, but please get your article motor running . Happy editing. WT101 (ChatCount) 04:35, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

@Hawkmist: Yeah, I agree too. I remember someone saying recently that Wikipedia is not some sort of "social network". IMHO, it's alright to chat with your Wikipedia friends occassionally, but you must still remember that we are writing an encyclopedia, and this is not FB or Twitter. ✉→Arctic Kangaroo←✎ 04:45, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
@WT101: I see that you spend a lot of time editing your userspace. Perhaps you want to focus more on articles? ✉→Arctic Kangaroo←✎ 04:45, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I am, just not getting to it yet. I have a bad habit of reading a page, ready to edit, and completely forgetting about editing, and just reading it. --PhoenixFire contribs 04:50, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Both of you, I know y'all mean well but shes adopted and still getting used to Wikipedia guidelines, WT101, I am disappointed in you for not listening to your adopters advise to Assume Good faith :) Prabash.Akmeemana 05:50, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Prabash, but they have a right to criticize me. I should know by now that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. Y'all understand that? --PhoenixFire contribs 05:56, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Phoenix Fire? Ooh. -- (T) Numbermaniac (C) 06:02, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah. All of a sudden I'm obsessed with phoenixes. Oh no! Am I catching my friends' obsession over Harry potter?! --PhoenixFire contribs 06:05, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

And the fire part is because near one of my relative's houses, there was a fire on a hill, and the hill had three crosses, and the fire just went around the crosses. They weren't touched. And they were wood! Lol, I don't care if you don't believe me, just so you know. --PhoenixFire contribs 06:09, 7 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Soft drink, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page America (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Thank you for your comments

[edit]

Hi Hawkmist. I realise that your comments on WT's talk page are with the very best of intentions, but it might be a good idea now to leave the rest to the admins. Such cases sometimes also attract the attention of other younger or less experienced users who simply prolong the issue with a risk of the page becoming more like a blog or a social networking site. Take care, and happy editing! :) Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 05:13, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Two things...

[edit]

Hello!

Just thought I'll point out two things:

  1. It's my WikiBirthday! See my user page.
  2. Two, when editing pages with VisualEditor, be warned that typing four tildes will "nowiki" the entire paragraph. Which means you have to make another edit to remove the nowikis. -- (T) Numbermaniac (C) 07:27, 14 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'll think about it. And Happy WikiBirthday! --PhoenixFire contribs 14:53, 14 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption test

[edit]

Are you ready for test? if yes then message me. Good luck.--Pratyya (Hello!) 06:20, 14 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A test?! Wow, it's funny how I never was adopted or anything like that. Hawk, you're lucky to have friends who are all experienced at wiki-editing. I didn't have that when I joined. :( -- (T) Numbermaniac (C) 07:29, 14 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm ready for a test! And Numbermaniac, you managed to become an awesome Wikipedian without one, but I'd have probably wanted an adopter too... --PhoenixFire contribs 14:52, 14 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, Numbermaniac, you can if you want. --PhoenixFire contribs 13:40, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's okaay with me if you tell me here. --PhoenixFire contribs 14:47, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, Hey Hawkmist, well when I was examining your answers I thought one thing. That you haven't read the whole policy. Anyway don't feel bad. I suggest you that you read the policy pages again. I've make the adoption page more easy for you. I'm saying just one thing that you'll not get 60-70% marks. Cause most of your answers are wrong or partly right. I have found just one answer fully right. So please read the pages again. I'm going to remove your answers. After reading you answer again.--Pratyya (Hello!) 15:00, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
PS now I'm going. It's night here. But please read those pages again and then answer. Read every link that contains policy. Please. It's a request.--Pratyya (Hello!) 15:05, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hawkmist, please also note that these questions are hypothetical, that is, a "What if this happens". If it is written in the question that "abc has happened", we assume that it has, and judge the question on the sceneario in question, not to think whether or not it has actually happened. TheOriginalSoni (talk) 07:22, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I know it's happened I just haven't found the time to reply. --PhoenixFire contribs 09:42, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Status

[edit]

Hey, do you have to manually type the status thing in or does it automatically work? I'm confused. -- t numbermaniac c 09:22, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, you need to manually type it. It reads from /Status. --PhoenixFire contribs 13:26, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
If you use this script then you'll not need to do it manually. It'll create button's like online, offline etc middle of Contribution and Log-out at the top of the page.--Pratyya (Hello!) 13:50, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cool lol. You'll notice that when you go to the edit CPU t again there'll be some stuff under the pie chart. Js pages are JavaScript pages created for enhancing pages. You can take a look at my stuff at User:Numbermaniac/common.js -- t numbermaniac c 01:30, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand a word on that page. --PhoenixFire contribs 02:46, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No, I mean your common.js page. And don't you think some of my userboxes are funny? --PhoenixFire contribs 03:07, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Take a look again, I added some green comments -- t numbermaniac c 04:10, 20 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
