A tag has been placed on Crime Prevention through Neighborhood Watch Programs within Baltimore, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Crime Prevention Through Neighborhood Watch Programs[edit]

Wikipedia is not the place to put a project for a university, as it will be edited and revised by others, unless your instructor explicitly says you should use Wikipedia. Even then, they expect it conforms to Wikipedia standards. You can ask to userfy it by putting the content on your user page or a subpage thereof. Thanks! You can ask your instructor to look at WP:School and university projects. Rarkenin (talk) 12:41, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Just to clarify, this page will not be deleted for a week, as per WP:XFD and then once the week passes, the page will be either deleted or kept, as a result of the discussion. Rarkenin (talk) 13:13, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you Rarkenin, however another user named Seraphimblade decided to delete my page unannouced last night. I can only say that as a new user to Wikipedia I will NEVER be returning to post an article after such an unwelcoming response. People threatening to delete peoples' pages 15 minutes after they have started to make them is no way to foster a community in which learning is prized. Many of the people threatening me with deletion never took the time to respond to my questions or offer help they instead were hell bent on deleting my work. If asked I would not recommend that anyone else try to make a wikipedia article because they will in essence be bullied by people who have nothing better to do than criticize people's hard work.(Hcorriga (talk) 17:50, 11 December 2012 (UTC))[reply]

HCorriga, nobody is trying to discourage you from Wikipedia. We simply need that users follow rules about what articles can be written, and what can't. Under this, opinion essays and original research can't be allowed since it detracts from Wikipedia's encyclopedia format. Sorry for these rules, but they can't be amended, or exceptions made. Seraphimblade is an admin, and enforces there rules. Thanks! Rarkenin (talk) 18:05, 11 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Hcorriga, surely you can see the value in having specific criteria for what types of articles and topics can be written about when creating an encyclopaedia. Almost all academic peer reviewed structures use this same format and often have a one time only submission. Fortunately, Wikipedia is a collaborative effort so the basic structure must be sound in notable third party sources to substantiate the article, but further development can happen as a live published articled. If we simply let every person write whatever they wanted, original research, cited from nefarious sources, or even non-notable content, then 'learning' could hardly be prized in a collection of essentially indiscriminate internet forum text. Lastly, did you equally take the time to learn about how to write a good Wikipedia article by reading the inclusion criteria or did you come in cold? If you were to send a paper off to a newspaper or a publisher, send a script to a finishing house, or write an editorial, I'm sure you would have taken the time to inquire about all the procedural requirements.
