September 2009[edit]

Your recent addition to Cagayan de Oro City has been removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without permission from the copyright holder. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Based on earlier versions of your userpage history, now deleted, it seems that you may have been the unregistered contributor who introduced the copyright infringements to the article to begin with. The Wikimedia Foundation received an e-mail from one of the copyright owners of that material complaining of the infringement and requesting its removal from the project. We do not host material copied from other websites without verification of permission, and we certainly do not host it when the copyright owners complain that we are violating their legal rights. The material has again been removed (and now also from your userpage history), and it must not be restored. Any material you contribute to this or any other article must be written in your own language in accordance with that copyright policy, although brief quotations of copyrighted text are permitted per policy and guideline at non-free content criteria. I am watching your talk page and the article. If you have questions about these policies, please feel free to let me know here or there. You are also welcome to ask them at my talk page or at the talk page of the copyright problems board: Wikipedia talk:Copyright problems. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 11:35, 23 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Block notice[edit]

You have been indefinitely blocked from editing in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for violating copyright policy by copying text into Wikipedia from other sources without verifying permission. You have been previously warned that this is against policy and have done this multiple times while unregistered sa well. Please take this opportunity to be sure you understand our copyright policy and our policies regarding how to quote non-free text. If you believe this block is unjustified or if you intend to comply with these policies, you may appeal the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:59, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It would be better not to have to block your account or protect the article. It's great that you are interested in making this article better. But you must realize that you can't do so by using other people's words. This is against the law that governs Wikipedia, and it can get Wikipedia into trouble. As I've already told you, we received a letter from one of the copyright owners objecting to our use of the text, so we know that they are not all willing to give permission. I have had to delete and restore this article five times to remove this text from Wikipedia. This can't continue. Again, if you have questions about these policies and guidelines, I am happy to try to answer them. I am still watching your talk page. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:44, 26 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
