Interstate 30 split

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We're glad to have a new registered contributor!

I've noticed an unregistered user has added a split tag to the Interstate 30 article - considering you just added one the other day, and that you are a new user, I'm assuming it was you. In any case, I have reverted your split suggestion, under the grounds that you did not start a split discussion. Per WP:PROSPLIT, when suggesting an article be split, you must start a "Split" discussion in the article's talk page. Please see the Split Procedure article I've linked above.

Again, welcome! -P shadoh (talk) 16:35, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Also, it is customary in the U.S. Roads WikiProject to only split national-level articles when the highway passes through 3+ statates. As I-30 only enters TX and AR, no state-level article would be created. --AdmrBoltz 16:39, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, good info for me, too! Time to read up. :) -P shadoh (talk) 19:11, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
See for example: Interstate 70 with its child articles Interstate 70 in Utah, Interstate 70 in Colorado, Interstate 70 in West Virginia (all three FAs, but all states it passes through have one). Interstate 8 is an example where there is no state-specific page as it only is in CA and AZ. --AdmrBoltz 19:28, 10 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand how to operate Lilypond on my userspace. — Preceding unsigned comment added by HeatIsCool (talkcontribs) 16:03, 4 November 2014‎ (UTC)[reply]

Can you give more detail about what you are trying to accomplish. I'm aware of some discussions about using LilyPond for music notation on the Wiki, but I don't believe it's implemented. Are you talking about using it here on Wikipedia, or on your user space somewhere else? —    Bill W.    (Talk)  (Contrib)  (User:Wtwilson3)  — 18:25, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I think the example on your user page is failing because there are no notes yet - when I added "b c d e f g" and did a "Show preview", some music appeared. Have you seen the Help:Score help page? -- John of Reading (talk) 19:27, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I stand corrected. Looks like it works just fine. —    Bill W.    (Talk)  (Contrib)  (User:Wtwilson3)  — 19:58, 4 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Using Official State Mileage Logs

[edit]

Thank you for creating the Kentucky junction list for U.S. Route 460! I noticed the milepoints you are using appear to be from a mapping service like Bing or Google Maps. The Kentucky state government (specifically the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet) has an application that you can use to get the milepoints to three decimal figures. I recommend you replace the Google or Bing numbers with the official state numbers and add the source to the references. You can see an example of the resource being used and cited in Kentucky Route 12.  V 02:37, 15 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

US 60/US 62 in IL

[edit]

I've have the article moved to U.S. Route 60 in Illinois and redirected U.S. Route 62 in Illinois and U.S. Route 60/62 in Illinois there. This follows the precedent from the US 15/US 501 situation in the Carolinas. FYI, you taggedUser talk:My coc clan lvl 10 as a G8. Please review the description. It is quite common for user pages to be nonexistent but we do not remove the user talk page for that reason. AfC submission

[edit]

Hi, I noticed that my AfC submission was not accepted [1]. A Badly Broken Code, Bad Time Zoo, and Parts of Speech (album) are produced by Lazerbeak, but they are not Lazerbeak's albums. As with Category:Curt Boettcher albums and Category:Albums produced by Curt Boettcher, Category:Albums by artist is one thing and Category:Albums by producer is another. I believe Category:Albums produced by Lazerbeak has to be created. It would be nice if you took a second look. Thanks. Regards, 153.202.224.53 (talk) 08:56, 27 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@153.202.224.53: As I said before, the category already exists here! I simply added the requested pages into the category. HeatIsCool 12:30, 27 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Won't you please explain the reason why you think A Badly Broken Code, Bad Time Zoo, and Parts of Speech (album) are Lazerbeak's albums? 153.206.204.129 (talk) 13:52, 27 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Editing Reynolds equation page

[edit]

Dear HeatIsCool,

I am writing you regarding the decline of the edits performed recently on the Reynolds equation page. I added an external link, which contains the examples of Matlab code of both analytical and numerical solutions of this equation. In my understanding, people looking for Reynolds equation are highly likely to be interested in these type of source. The webpage which is linked to, does not require any registration to get the access and does not contain any advertisements. So in my opinion, this link complies with the wikipedia rules. Please, let me know, what is violated with this link.

Redirects

[edit]

Hi. Just a tip. If you put the speedy tag below the redirect code, the redirect still operates. It's best put at the top so the redirect action is stopped. (Anything above the redirect code does this.) Cheers. Peridon (talk) 09:12, 5 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

[edit]

Hello, HeatIsCool. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I've left a comment on your Articles for Creation submission, which can be viewed at Draft:U.S. Route 20 in Idaho. Thanks! Imzadi 1979  21:14, 7 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations on the creation of Draft:U.S. Route 20 in Idaho!

[edit]

Just wanted to congratulate you on its creation and acceptance as an article in the mainspace. I did indeed nominate the draft for deletion at a time and twinkle notified you as well. I however reverted my nomination immediately after making it as I had changed my mind/decided it too soon since the draft had just been declined (or something like that) however forgot to remove the deletion nomination notice that twinkle put on your talk page, I have now removed that for you.

Congrats and happy editing! TheSandDoctor (talk) 23:14, 13 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

User:HeatIsCool/db-hoax-notice, a page which you created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; you may participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:HeatIsCool/db-hoax-notice and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:HeatIsCool/db-hoax-notice during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. –LaundryPizza03 (d) 04:52, 12 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
