Special[edit]

What's the purpose of the Special cars and why have them? heat_fan1 (talk) 21:42, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is a very small number of cars in GT4 that cannot be used in 1P or 2P races, you can only practice solo. It makes sense to state that they cannot be used in events. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.141.22.25 (talk) 22:34, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Flags[edit]

I like the flags, but they crowd the list a bit. I'm using a 1280x800 display, and they force the Manufacturers to go to a second line. Since this list is extremely long as it is, I'm thinking we keep it short. heat_fan1 (talk) 16:18, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, fair enough. Obviously we could widen the column, but you're probably right, the page is very long, and with all the extra tags, loading time will become as issue. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.141.18.217 (talk) 11:07, 5 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Couple of minor points[edit]

  • I think the article can now be created and linked from everywhere
  • Should we unify Polyphony Digital/Formula Gran Turismo and Gran Turismo/Formula Gran Turismo, with a note saying that the car is listed under a different dealer?
  • Page bloat is now an issue. Have you thought about not having every instance of a manufacturer linked? As an example, there are literally over 100 Nissans on the page - only the first one needs to be a link to the Nissan page. It's currently 241,099 bytes, and probably several kilobytes can be saved if we removed them all. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.141.18.159 (talk) 23:09, 16 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with the first point. On the second, we should definitely combine them; I'll group them under Polyphony. And on the third, I was thinking of splitting the list. It's just an incredibly long list. What do you think of splitting it into 3 lists alphabetically? Also, I've been using Excel to build the list, which is one reason there's a link on each manufacturer/model. heat_fan1 (talk) 13:35, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. I thought you had used a database or spreadsheet of some sort. Personally, I don't like split lists - people might want to find, for example, all German cars from 1989 or before. They wouldn't be able to do this if Audi was on a different page to Mercedes, and VW was on the 3rd page. If you had to split like this, how about splitting 2 ways - Japan and Rest of World would give you a 60%-40% split. But even then, it would lose some of its usefulness. After all, the length is partly what makes the list so notable. If we simply need to reduce storage/loading, how about getting rid of the columns for the Prologue games, for example?
I'm down with taking out the Concept and Prologue games. It's quite a pain of an endeavor, but it can be done. heat_fan1 (talk) 19:48, 17 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Ah. I thought if you had a spreadsheet then removing a column would be very simple. It's up to you. But in any case, I'd suggest putting up what we have ASAP and let the people decide on how to improve it. In any case, you've done a great job! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.141.18.159 (talk) 21:11, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going through and making some final checks. Once done (before the end of the week), I'll put it up. heat_fan1 (talk) 14:02, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This list is still here![edit]

Great job of keeping it here man. I thought it had been deleted forever... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.175.220.26 (talk) 18:43, 30 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
