This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject. Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

I looked for news articles and books that mentioned the Fling, but the best I could find was a very brief mention in the book "Emerging Sports as Social Movements" (2021) – and even that brief mention wasn't about the Fling itself as much as it was Brathwaite's shot. The Golf Digest source is reliable and independent but discusses the course and tournament itself in no substantial detail (once again, it's about Brathwaite). Same with the USA Today source. The Disc Mania source is from the blog of a disc golf equipment store, bringing its reliability into question. However, as the author is apparently this Rick Saffeels, I think it's usable to contribute somewhat toward notability. ATDG doesn't have any indication of editorial oversight per WP:RS. The PDGA and Beaver State Fling sources are reliable but not independent. The article from The Oregonion is, I think, exactly what a good source for this should look like, and I think a couple more high-quality sources just like it would result in this draft being accepted.

Hi @North8000:,

I appreciate the feedback. I am pretty new at this, I guess I struggle a bit to know how much and what to add to something like this. I could pontificate about various Portland Opens but I think the goal is to try to keep it succinct and high level. I guess I am wondering if you have any guidance for me that might be helpful.

If it was just a few "it happened" facts and then the results, it shouldn't be an article in Wikipedia because Wiki isn't about sporting stats. But you have sources which cover it in more depth.
