King Country

[edit]

Waitomo is in the Waikato region. Wikipedia uses the local government Regions of New Zealand in the infoboxes of articles to explain where geographical features are. You are welcome to also add cultural/historical regions, such as King Country, but you cannot add them as local government regions. They should be added to the body of the article with a suitable reference, as you did at Waitomo Glowworm Caves#Location.-gadfium 08:43, 8 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This is incorrect, Please Don't add us to and area where we are not from. Waikato is a area of tribe from the WAIKATO area. I am a ( Elder )Kaumatua and a ( Tribal Leader ) Rangatira from the WAITOMO AREA and our people consider this insulting that the page calls us part of a tribal area that we are not from.

We are from Ngati Maniapoto from Te Rohe Potae translates to King Country. NOT WAIKATO Hamilton Based Iwi famously named after the people and the river.

King Country is where we are from.

When Wiki allows as to add King Country then we will

The infobox lists government regions, not tribal regions. As I said above, you are welcome to add cultural regions to the body of the text.-gadfium 04:39, 9 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You are incorrect. They are maori names that is cultural areas. Also The government voting commission of NZ state that we are King County/Taranaki. The current MP for the general election is Barbara Kuriger. A different area from Waikato. One of Waikato's Ministers is Hon Nanaia Mahuta The last 3 sites are are GOVT sites. So does The area has nothing to do with Waikato at all.
