Speedy deletion nomination of Sorting Thoughts[edit]

A tag has been placed on Sorting Thoughts, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Proposed deletion of Sorting Thoughts[edit]

The article Sorting Thoughts has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article without independent, published sources that would allow the reader to verify its content. No evidence that this software meets Wikipedia's general notability guidelines.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sorting Thoughts[edit]

Hi Hendrik, many thanks for your message on my talk page. The best place to start to understand the nature of the references needed are the sources policy and the notability guideline. I'm afraid the Softpedia article probably doesn't count as its not significant coverage of Sorting Thoughts - its just a recapitulation of the technical details of the software and softpedia itself doesn't have the kind of editorial policy required by the guidelines on reliable sources. Similar points apply to the MacUpdate article. What you need are proper coverage in recognized press sources. A review in a widely known Mac magazine like MacWorld, or a newspaper like the San Francisco Chronicle or New York Times would easily meet our guidelines.
