ArbCom 2022 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2022 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 12 December 2022. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2022 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:55, 29 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Demophon of Athens, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Phaedra and Achaeans. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:03, 16 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 23:14, 4 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Citation needed

[edit]

Hello Henry, in Adamson Tannehill, a citation is needed for your statement: "John Tannehill's great-great grandfather, William Tannehill Sr., came from Kilmarnock, Scotland in 1651 as a prisoner of war in the English Civil War." Also, please modify your new citations to conform to the style established in –both– the Notes and the References sections. I've already added Tannehill (1940) to the References; the corresponding Note needs to be modified. Thank you. Tfhentz (talk) 13:54, 6 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

December 2023

[edit]

Information icon Hi! I noticed that you nominated the article Charles XIV John for Good article status. You do not appear to have made significant edits to the article prior to this, and there is no discussion about nominating the article on its talk page. Current practice is that only editors who have significantly contributed to the article are able to nominate it (see the nomination instructions). I have consequently removed the nomination for now. Consider discussing whether the article is ready to be nominated with the article's principal editors on the talk page. Thank you. Aintabli (talk) 01:24, 13 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for taking the time to review this article. Would you be able to edit the article to reflect any changes that are needed in order for this article to attain good article status? Henry Berghoff (talk) 03:22, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I also added in page numbers cited in the Bert Joseph Griswold book. Obviously there is a lot of editing.
also, could you point out the uncited information on family? And would it be notable to indicate his daughter marrying the son of a councilman? Thanks. Henry Berghoff (talk) 03:30, 14 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Berghoff's son, Fred, served as Chairman of the Fort Wayne Board of Public Safety, and another of his sons, Raymond, served as Allen County Coroner. appears to be uncited. I am still slightly concerned about the citation formatting and would suggest using Template:Sfn. Alexeyevitch(talk) 05:19, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Would you be able to set up the template on the article? I’m not experienced with source editing. Henry Berghoff (talk) 04:07, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I will do this later today. Alexeyevitch(talk) 04:15, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Partly done. I am unaware of what pages the content is cited on, it would be appreciated if you were able to add what page the content is cited on.
I can work thru correcting errors but I can't be too involved in the review process. See Template:Sfn#Usage. Alexeyevitch(talk) 05:14, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've begun adding Template:Sfn. I would appreciate if you could add the page numbers. Alexeyevitch(talk) 21:26, 23 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I will get to it when I have time. Thanks for your help Henry Berghoff (talk) 02:10, 24 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Could you add the new source into this template? It’s by Susan Berghoff Prowant.
also, How do I add page numbers? I thought I did so earlier. Henry Berghoff (talk) 22:36, 2 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. This is an example how to use {{Sfn}} references, I will provide an example from a page I usually contribute to:
The Opawa Methodist Church was built in 1907.{{Sfn|Judith|2008|p=31}}. |p= – specific page referenced in the source
==Works cited==
Judith, Hamilton (2008). Early Churches in and Around Christchurch. Christchurch, New Zealand.{{cite book}}: CS1 maint: location missing publisher (link)
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An example of a Sfn reference from your article is: On September 18, 1877, Henry married Theresa Mayer {{Sfn|Berghoff|2011|p=}}.
