Statustop template: alternate updating method

SoxBot V has been taken offline indefinitely, therefore {{Statustop}} now uses a semi-manual updating method taking the status from Special:Mypage/Status. You can use the Qui monobook script written by TheDJ to update this page at the click of a button.

Certain parameters are no longer used, so you may wish to check the documentation of the Statustop template to ensure you are using it properly. Please feel free to drop by my talk page with any questions or concerns or to report problems with the template. Happy editing, xenocidic ( talk ¿ listen ) 14:01, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Now in your sandbox. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 14:40, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Because you tagged the Sandbox for deletion, I deleted it under {{G7}}, and then recreated it clean for your future use. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 12:46, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

A tag has been placed on Portal:Sims/Picture Archive/Suggestions requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section P2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a portal based on a topic for which there is no non-stub header article, and there are not at least three non-stub articles detailing subject matter that would be appropriate to discuss under the title of that portal.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Portal:Sims/Picture Archive/Suggestions|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. BG7even 18:01, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Huh?

Did you mean to do this? Friday (talk) 21:05, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Category:Article Within WPSims`s Scope, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Category:Article Within WPSims`s Scope has been empty for at least four days, and its only content has been links to parent categories. (CSD C1).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Category:Article Within WPSims`s Scope, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 03:30, 6 June 2008 (UTC)

Rollback

After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback can only be used to revert vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback may be removed at any time.

If you do not want rollback, then contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some information on how to use rollback, you can view this page. I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, just leave me a message on my talk page. Happy editing! Malinaccier (talk) 02:33, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

Hi - I see you have recently created one or more new stub types. As it states at Wikipedia:Stub, at the top of most stub categories, and in many other places on Wikipedia, it is recommended that new stub types are proposed prior to creation at Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting/Proposals. This is partly in order to check whether the new stub type is already covered by existing stub types, whether it is named according to stub naming guidelines, whether it is otherwise correctly formatted, whether it reaches the standard threshold for creation of a new stub type, and whether it crosses existing stub type hierarchies, and partly so that those who regularly deal with stub articles know what stub types are likely to need re-sorting soon. Your new stub type is currently listed at WP:WSS/D - please feel free to make any comments there as to any rationale for this stub type. And please, in future, consider proposing new stub types first! Grutness...wha? 02:43, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

User:Electrical Experiment/Userboxes/KKK, a page you created, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Electrical Experiment/Userboxes/KKK and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Electrical Experiment/Userboxes/KKK during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Metros (talk) 03:12, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello Electrical Experiment. I'm sorry to inform you that I've closed out your requestion to join the mediation committee per the two oppose rule. Don't be disheartened by this, the concerns were based on a lack of experience in dispute resolution so you may wish to get some more experience in this area. Working with the mediation cabal, which has no formal requirements for joining, will certainly help you gain this experience. Best wishes for the future, Ryan Postlethwaite 17:36, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Cape Code Times Logo.png

Thanks for uploading Image:Cape Code Times Logo.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 19:06, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

References

I'd like to point out something about the references you deleted off Destroy All Humans! Path of the Furon. Those blogs were actually Developer Diarys written by Creative Director Jon Knoles. They were moved to IGN from THQ. You can find the originals here. --SWJS: The All Knowing Destroy All Humans! Nerd(Cortex Scan) 23:08, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Help

How do I make my userpage a different Background Color? ElectricalVandilize Me 01:01, 19 June 2008 (UTC) {{Helpme}}

Add the following to the top of your userpage:

{| align=center width=100% style=" border: 3px solid #3AAB67; padding: 6px; background: #B8F9CF;" |

Border changes the border thickness, the colours are hexadecimal numbers that relate to colours. You can get these numbers from the colour pallete in programs such as GIMP or Photoshop. If you're after specific colours, just reply with some links to some examples and I'll help you out. Just don't be too fussy :). Hope this helps! Gazimoff WriteRead 01:09, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Question

{{helpme}} If I create a Doppelganger accounts can i combine that with a single purpose account just to use it for one type of edit. For editing User:Electrical Experiment/Status.?ElectricalExperiment 13:25, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

Yes, but you should link the two accounts as described at WP:SOCK#LEGIT. The guideline advises that you should not use the dopplegangers for editing as it may confuse things. So, perhaps create a doppleganger, and then a second account with a descriptive username. xenocidic (talk) 14:10, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Ive created a Doppelganger account. It is User:Electrical Exp. ElectricalExperiment 14:49, 20 June 2008 (UTC)
Not quite a doppleganger. a doppleganger would be something like...ElectricalExperiment...(almost, but not quite exactly the same name). you can use that as a segregation account. xenocidic (talk) 15:02, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

DYK hook

Hi. You recently suggested a hook for Wikipedia:Did You Know, "... that gelatin is made from hooves?" However, DYK is only for new articles, or those which have been expanded five-fold in the last five days. The selection criteria explain this and the other DYK eligibility rules. Cheers, Olaf Davis | Talk 10:11, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

fake New Messages banner

I have removed this, as it is considered to be misleading to users. You are welcome to usse the banner with alternative text, but the Messages format is frowned upon. Please do not add it back: it will only result in further warnings, and potentially a block.

Thanks,

BG7even 10:18, 23 June 2008 (UTC)

While it isn't against any policy, it is annoying, and discouraged. I would suggest removing it. –xenocidic (talk) 14:15, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
