Album of the Year

[edit]

Album of the Year is even included in the album ratings template parameters as |AOTY = . Please stop owning music articles and check Template:Album ratings and MOS:ALBUMS. --−αΣn=1NDi[n][Σj∈C{i}Fji[n − 1]+Fexti[(n^−1)] 18:57, 8 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Sebastian James: Did you notice that the website is currently being discuss at WT:ALBUMS, right? TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 19:18, 8 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
For one thing, that template parameter wasn't added until just days ago – many months after my last edit involving removal of a citation to this site (which is where I assume this charge of me "owning" articles stems from) out of concerns over its reliability per WP:UGC, something which I certainly wasn't alone in raising. Admittedly I did carelessly forget to explain that reasoning on some of my edit summaries for those edits – I'll be more aware of that going forward. As it stands a new discussion is indeed taking place. Whatever consensus it may amount to I'll respect. Cheers. Holiday56 (talk) 16:22, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

EM Rating

[edit]

Hi Holiday. Can you explain why the EPM rating has been lost. I inserted it a while back???Muso805 (talk) 09:24, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hiya, I assume this corresponds to the Bring It On article? My apologies, I really should've filled up an edit summary. I swapped it for a Record Collector review because I took it to be a notable source to include given its status as a leading UK music publication, and also to maintain a reasonable balance of negative/positive reviews in the box. But I've no qualms with restoring it provided the ten-review maximum is maintained. Holiday56 (talk) 11:29, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I really think you will find that the EPM (Encyclopedia Of Popular Music) is a much more credible source than Record Collector, I would appreciate re instatement, thanks Muso805 (talk) 11:45, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Duly noted – it's a source I've cited in the past as well, I might add. Made some additions to the article incorporating content from the Larkin source. Holiday56 (talk) 12:27, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Well done. You get the "most decent Wiki Editor of the day award". I am just about to add the reference and position from Larkin's Top 1000 Album book, which I swear by. RegardsMuso805 (talk) 13:47, 24 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited The Bends (song), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Heavy metal (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Changing styles

[edit]

Why are you adding {{track listing}} to articles that already have an existing track listing? ―Justin (koavf)TCM 01:02, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This is related to my Old LP edit, I presume. I genuinely didn't realize it'd be particularly contentious – found that the template might be useful enough given the built-in parameters for the songwriting note(s) and total length, etc. But if maintaining the existing style is the more appropriate approach here I won't contest. Holiday56 (talk) 04:01, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Holiday56, I noticed it there but saw that you have done it other times, too. See Wikipedia:WikiProject_Albums/Album_article_style_advice#Track_listing. Thanks. ―Justin (koavf)TCM 05:39, 3 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
