Hi Hondie. Thanks for your comment. Now you've said that, my edit makes me feel pretty stupid. In retrospect, the obituary article does actually state that the other Joe Lancaster's DoB was 4th December, so I should have picked up on that and realised they were different people.
I've now split the two articles apart, and created a disambiguation page to separate them - there are also a few other people with similar names who have articles already too, so it's probably as well this was done sooner rather than later.
Unfortunately your dad's article is back to being rather slim on the info. If you could provide me any further details about his career (preferably with some sort of back-up, if you know he happens to be referred to in a book or news clipping etc, but I can work with anything) then I'd be very happy to expand his article. I usually restrict my edits to people in some way involved with Manchester City, but in this instance I think I can see to crossing the divide and fleshing out this article instead. It's the least I can do after accidentally declaring your father dead on the internet.
