FNDS

[edit]

By the definition provided in Cancellation (television) Chuck does not fit the definition of "Cancelled." It is VERY well-documented that the Season 5 renewal was a mutual agreement by the studio and NBC, and that part of that agreement was SPECIFICALLY that this would be Chuck's final season. This therefore provides the show with a creative conclusion, rather than outright termination or refusal to renew that is central to Wiki's definition of cancellation. Had Chuck NOT been picked up for a fifth AND ANNOUNCED FINAL season, it would be cancelled. The central argument behind the FNDS article is that it involves the cancellation of a television series. By THAT definition alone, listing Chuck on this article is invalid. The source you site DOES NOT SAY THE SHOW WAS CANCELLED.

Furthermore, the chart itself is SPECIFICALLY regarding shows that were strong in the ratings prior to being moved to Friday nights, after which their ratings tanked. Once again, Chuck does not fit this criteria (and arguably half the shows ON those lists) because the ratings were already poor prior to being moved on the schedule. Furthermore, your referenced source gives no indication of the ratings, invalidating its use on the chart, which SPECIFICALLY indicates shows that suffered ratings drops after moving to Friday (the validity of including these charts in the article ITSELF is up for debate as they would fall under Original Research).

FURTHERMORE, your article provides no source indicating that Chuck was cancelled. I refer you also to this article, linked within the one you referenced: http://www.ugo.com/tv/chuck-season-five-last. Once again, it does not say Chuck was cancelled, but that the series was announced to be ending with its 5th season. This decision was once again tied directly into the renewal deal.

Your continued insistence on listing the series amounts wholly to personal opinion and is unsupported either by other Wikipedia articles OR third-party sources. It is not supported by the key definition of the FNDS, (imminent cancellation being the key factor) because it IS NOT SUPPORTED by the definition of cancelled per Cancellation (television). Finally, your referenced source does NOT state that Chuck was "cancelled." Ambaryer (talk) 19:55, 21 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
