Indian Admins[edit]

Yeah, I understand that and people may simply have an interest in the caste system despite not being Indian. I just put up the list of Indian Admins because A) Its more helpful than putting up the list of every admin as there are only 15 and a user can easily pick three or four and give them messages and B) There is a higher likelihood that Indian admins would know more about Indian history than those from other nations. However, I appreciate your concern. Nobleeagle (Talk) 00:11, 20 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RfA questions[edit]

I've placed them on the main page and answered them. — getcrunk what?! 21:09, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In question one, you said "What length block would you use against a persistent vandal who uses AOL" and as I read the blocking policy, it says "Vandalism — For dynamic IPs, such blocks should last up to 24 hours. Normally, AOL IPs should be blocked for about 15 minutes, then 1-3 hours, and typically topping out at 24 hours". I took your "persistent vandal" remark to mean that the person had been blocked previously, thus I would increase the length of following blocks. — getcrunk what?! 21:20, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
For example, if an AOL user was blocked for 5 minutes on May 11 2006 and then 15 minutes on June 1 2006, I would not up the block to one hour. I'd only do that if the user was vandalising 4 p/m (pages per minute), etc. and has been blocked very recently. — getcrunk what?! 21:38, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

WP:ANI[edit]

I hope your recent sarcastic edit, [1], and comment was not directly intended to be personally interpreted by me. Please remember Wikipedia's civilty policy. Iolakana|T 21:08, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

IT was not directed personally at you and Im at a loss to see how it could be seen that way. I do not know you and I have no desire to be in a conflict with anyone here. Hort Graz 21:31, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RfA questions[edit]

Your fifth RfA question, the one referring to soldiers in Iraq, has been removed from all current RfAs. It is deeply inappropriate, as it does not relate in the least to Wikipedia, attempts to draw a parallel between death and the duties of Wikipedia admins, and is highly offensive to both the inhabitants of Iraq and to the military forces stationed there. I strongly caution you against making further use of this type of inflammatory questioning, and will not hesitate to block if I observe it again. Essjay (TalkConnect) 13:59, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was wrong to ask such an obviously ignorant question on this person's Rfa and have voted support. I appreciate your defense of me, but I have concluded there is no reason to believe, aside from coincidence of names, that these two are the same person. You may wish to adjust your vote since I am fully appeased. Happy editing.--MONGO 01:02, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Vote campaigning? I don't care how you vote, but as I said, you seemed to be neutral based on my comments, which were improper on my part.--MONGO 08:08, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My neutral was based on pschemps deleting comments, not allowing Samsara to answer the question. Hort Graz 08:13, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I understand that, and again, it was essentially my wrongful assumption and poor choice on where to ask the question that needs to now be taken into consideration. The same name indicates nothing except coincidence.--MONGO 08:21, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You and the question are less important than the deletion. pschemp should not be deleting anything except trolling from a rfa. pschemp needs to apologize for deleting rfa comments, not just to you but to the community. Hort Graz 08:46, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hort, she did apologize to me on my talk page...not that she needed to in my opinion. I consider all this simply water under the bridge at this point...it's a non issue.--MONGO 14:25, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I understand your concerns about that deletion, and as I stated before, I don't think pschemp should have done that. Whether she should apologise to the whole community is another issue, but what's most important here is that this RFA is about this candidate Samsara, not about his friends or enemies. Please base your vote on his behaviour, his actions, and not on that of others. --JoanneB 09:17, 7 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
