Welcome to Wikipedia, the greatest encyclopedia on Earth! You seem to be off to a good start. Hopefully you will soon join the vast army of Wikipediholics! You may wish to review the welcome page, tutorial, and stylebook, as well as the avoiding common mistakes and Wikipedia is not pages. You may also want to check out Wikipedia:Merge, for information about merging, renaming and moving pages. The Wikipedia directory is also quite useful. By the way, an important tip: To sign comments on talk pages, simply type four tildes, like this: ~~~~. This will automatically add your name and the time after your comments.

GOP and Dems[edit]

Dems were significantly more liberal than GOP on most issues since 1896. As for Asians there were no party differences. On racial segregation the GOP was more liberal down to 1940s, but that was not a front-burner issue at the time. Rjensen 02:43, 11 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your username[edit]

Hi, there is some discussion going on regarding your choice of username. Please see Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard#User:HowardDean. Thanks! — TheKMantalk 05:12, 11 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Don't worry about this: this was just a query from an overly cautious editor. Your contribution history is excellent, so really, it's no big deal. – ClockworkSoul 05:54, 11 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Far left Politicians[edit]

The issue with the Far Left and Far Right categories is mostly the lack of a clear, objective, definition - it's just too easy for them to be used as a vector to attack or smear. I'll change my delete vote if you can come up with a clear standard for both that people will agree too. Trapper 17:45, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Adding unverified claims to David Letterman[edit]

Please do not add nonsense to Wikipedia, as you did to David Letterman. It is considered vandalism. If you would like to experiment, use the sandbox. Thank you. - Mike Beckham 09:44, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is unverified and original research, which is not allowed on Wikipedia. Please do not re-add it or you may be blocked. - Mike Beckham 11:04, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rebecca Cummings[edit]

HowardDean, You participated in the first AfD discussion for the Rebecca Cummings article at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rebecca Cummings. The decision was keep but it has been nominated for deletion a second time. I thought you may be interested in participating in the discussion that is going on at [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Rebecca_Cummings_%282nd_nomination%29. Thanks in advance. --HeartThrobs 01:21, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
