Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Howard James Reekie requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Sarah182 (talk) 22:28, 29 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your article[edit]

The page I deleted consisted only of the words "Howard James Reekie, Screenwriter, Producer." We get new articles at the rate of over one a minute, many of which are one-liners like that which are never added to; it is best not to input an article until there is enough there, including references, to make it clear that a viable article is likely to result. See Your First Article for more advice.

Also, autobiography is strongly discouraged on Wikipedia, for reasons explained here; see also WP:Conflict of interest.

If after reading those guidelines you still wish to write an article about yourself, it will need to meet Wikipedia's requirement of Notability, which is not a matter of opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject" Significant means more than just listing-type mentions; reliable excludes Myspace, blogs, places where anyone can post anything; independent excludes the subject's own website and affiliated ones, press releases etc. More detail at Notability (people) and (for film-makers) WP:CREATIVE. There is good advice for people editing with a COI in User:Uncle G/On notability#Writing about subjects close to you:

When writing about subjects that are close to you, don't use your own personal knowledge of the subject, and don't cite yourself, your web site, or the subject's web site. Instead, use what is written about the subject by other people, independently, as your sources. Cite those sources in your very first edit. If you don't have such sources, don't write.

As far as notability of a film sequel goes, the usual Wikipedia rule is that a forthcoming film should not have an article until reliable sources confirm that principal photography has started, and maybe not until release - see WP:NFF. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 12:40, 30 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As you have stated that you have followed the instructions regarding WP:OTRS (bullet point above "If you hold the copyright..."), you simply need to wait until that is confirmed by the Wikimedia foundation - once that happens and an OTRS ticket is assigned, an administrator with OTRS access will be able to restore the image. Please note that as you have admitted editing on behalf of GlobalMusic4 Life, you should refrain from editing any articles related to that organization as a conflict of interest.
