Although some prefer welcoming new users with cookies, I find fruit to be a healthier alternative.

Hello, Hripsashidze, and welcome to Wikipedia! I am Sam Sailor and I would like to thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Some pages of helpful information to get you started:
  Introduction to Wikipedia
  The five pillars of Wikipedia
  Editing tutorial
  How to edit a page
  Simplified Manual of Style
  The basics of Wikicode
  How to develop an article
  How to create an article
  Help pages
  What Wikipedia is not
Some common sense Do's and Don'ts:
  Do be bold
  Do assume good faith
  Do be civil
  Do keep cool!
Do maintain a neutral point of view
  Don't spam
  Don't infringe copyright
Don't edit where you have a conflict of interest
  Don't vandalize
  Don't get blocked

Remember to always sign your posts on talk pages. You can do this either by clicking on the button on the edit toolbar or by typing four tildes (~~~~) at the end of your post. This will automatically insert your signature, a link to this (your talk) page, and a timestamp.

The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun! To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

There are many ways you can contribute to Wikipedia. Here are a few ideas:

  Fight vandalism
Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
  Help contribute to articles
  Perform maintenance tasks
Become a member of a project that interests you
  Help design new templates

If you need further help, you can:

  Ask a question

or even:

Ask an experienced editor to "adopt" you

Alternatively, place {{helpme}} on your talk page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Again, welcome,  and happy editing!

File permission problem with File:Ashot Chilingarian.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Ashot Chilingarian.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 21:05, 26 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits to Ashot Chilingarian

[edit]

I have removed extensive copyright violations from this article. Please read Talk:Ashot Chilingarian#Copyright problem removed and the guidelines linked from that message carefully. Voceditenore (talk) 14:00, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Hripsime. You re-added the aragats.am material to the article, that both Voceditenore and I have removed. I have restored an earlier version. I know that Wiki is a jungle of do's and don'ts, it continues to be for me, and I will post you a welcome message with some good links to get started. What I would ask you to do is to at least follow the instructions in Talk:Ashot Chilingarian#Copyright problem removed. Please also be aware that no matter who starts or contributes to an article here, nobody owns it. If I can help you in any way, give me a shout on my talk page. Best, Sam Sailor Sing 17:34, 29 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I see that you have added the copyright material again for a third time, and a third editor has had to remove it. You wrote on [User:Sam Sailor|Sam Sailor]]'s talk page
"All the information that I put on wikipedia page is reliable. I ask you not to change my edits."
It is not a question of whether it is reliable, Hripsashidze. The problem is that you have copied the text from a copyright source. That is not allowed here. You will be reverted each time you try to add it, and if you continue to add it, you risk being blocked completely from Wikipedia. Please do not do it again. Information icon Hello, I'm Sam Sailor. I noticed that you recently removed some content from Ashot Chilingarian without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry: I restored the removed content. If you would like to experiment, you can use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks!
