Welcome!

[edit]

Hi there, Hudsonthedog, and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm a regular contributor here, and when I notice on the recent changes log that a new editor has registered, I like to send them a welcome message - that's how I ended up on your talk page.

If you've never edited here before, there are a few useful links that you might want to look at, designed to help newcomers learn the ropes:

Here are a few features of Wikipedia that I find particularly helpful:

  • If you leave a message on a talk page, you can sign it with four tildes (~~~~), which will automatically produce your name and a date stamp when you save the page
  • The "Show preview" button allows you to look at what your post will look like before you save it - that way, you can proofread what you've written and not have to back and correct spelling mistakes, failed links, etc.
  • You can create a watchlist for yourself that will keep a record of any changes made to a page that interests you.

There are plenty of other features and facets of Wikipedia, many of which I probably haven't even discovered myself, so have fun looking around and finding them.

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Again, welcome! - Tapir Terrific, 20:49, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi!

[edit]

Hi Hudson, it's good to see you there :D At first when I saw the new Username in the WikiProject I wasn't sure if it was you, but now I can recognize the Bugatti pic! It's absolutely great for Wikipedia and us all that you joined and I am looking forward to your many valuable contributions! I would also like to thank you for signing up for so many Task Forces - I guess it will take some time until we get those running, as we need to get the standards and reviewing guidelines ready first, and with the escalating tension between me and Steve and half of the active Project members on holiday it's not going to be that easy...

That said, I would like to invite you to join a smaller project I am working on. Namely, together with other members we are expaning the Simca Vedette article, and the effort already sprawled on another Simca articles, and will probably also have to encompass the Simca article itself. I have managed to successfully nominate the Talbot Tagora article for featured status and I now want to repeat that with some other Simca, Chrysler Europe and Talbot vehicles :D I have also been editing Autobianchi articles of late, as well as doing some other Italian-related stuff from time to time :D I believe you could add a lot value with your vast knowledge and great sources, so it would be great if you could find a few moments for some of those articles :D

Thanks for uploading Image:DCP01716.JPG. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Hudson, I have seen you presumably had your image deleted. I guess I know where the problem is - such issues are handled automatically (by bots), which are both pretty ruthless and thoughtless. What they look for is a copyright tag (see the link above), and delete all images that aren't tagged (regardless of what the attached text says), because they are a potential copyright danger, which WP tries to avoid. I assume this is your own photo, so what you need to do while uploading it is choose one of the appropriate licenses (unfortunately, you have to release some rights, as WP does not host copyrighted images other than under fair use, as anybody could download them) and no bot will ever bother you. I have nominated Album network, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Album network. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. —Justin (koavf)TCM19:19, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
