Collaboration[edit]

Hey! Would you be interested in collaborating with me to revamp the Banjo-Kazooie article anytime? I think the article needs a bit of a facelift and I was really impressed with your work on Conker. (I've also already done work on Project Dream so that should save us some time on development.) JOEBRO64 18:10, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Absolutely, that would be awesome, although that depends on more sources exist (which there are plenty of review sources not represented in the article) and if the Niwi3 letting go of some WP:OWNERSHIP. He has particularly been quick to revert my edits on Rare game articles like Banjo-Kazooie and Perfect Dark. 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 21:18, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If you can find more sources then of course feel free to expand it. Also, please don't confuse ownership with WP:STEWARDSHIP. When it comes to editing an article that has been promoted to FA or GA status, it is generally considerate to discuss what is problematic before making substantial changes. --Niwi3 (talk) 21:56, 23 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Aqua Aqua[edit]

The article Aqua Aqua you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Aqua Aqua for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of the article. Consider some editing and resubmitting for GA. PerryPerryD (first effort at a GA review) reached a decision VERY fast (started and closed same day!). Given that you have succeeded with several GA nominations in the past, I am willing to guess - although videogames ignorant - that you are on the right path to get Aqua Aqua to GA. I've had two of my GA nominations failed on first attempt and was successful with second attempt. David notMD (talk) 18:45, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hello@David notMD The article here was extremely small and judging by what i could perceive, Had some issuses regarding grammar. Earlier today this very same article went from a stub rating to a b rating on the Videogames WikiProject. I encourage people to 2nd opinion this nomination, as this was my first attempt. This was simply my visual judgement on the article. I apologize if my decision turns out to be incorrect. I wish the article the best of luck. PerryPerryD (talk) 18:50, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I have been reviewing the article ever since an hour after the GAN Nomination was posted, I noticed these issues and compiled them into the final review, This is why the review only took 1 hour to create. PerryPerryD (talk) 18:58, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@PerryPerryD: Responded to the comments on the GA review. 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 19:38, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@PerryPerryD: MY main concern is that you made the decision so fast. My experience with my 16 approved GAs is that reviewers have been willing to work with me for 7-10 days as basically a joint effort to reach the goal. That sometimes meant two rounds of my responding to scores of weaknesses. Grammar should never be a deciding factor. David notMD (talk) 19:58, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Grammar was not the deciding factor in this instance, Looking back my judgement was clearly wrong, I adjusted the decision to 2nd Opinion Requested to change my answer here. There is still 1 issue remaining that is a slight concern of mine and that is ta lack of a screenshot of the game. Otherwise, I really no longer have any complaints with this article. Again. I apologize. @David notMD @HumanxAnthro PerryPerryD (talk) 20:01, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@David notMD by the way, Are you able to easily understand the article? earlier you said you were video game illeterate, so if you are able to understand it that means the article can be understood across a broad audience. PerryPerryD (talk) 20:04, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not entirely illiterate - my daughter was a programmer for Turbine, Inc and Insomniac Games. I understood the article. IMO opinon the Reception section is too long, but the details may matter more to people in the videogames universe. David notMD (talk) 20:26, 2 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

WikiCup 2022 March newsletter[edit]

And so ends the first round of the WikiCup. Last year anyone who scored more than zero points moved on to Round 2, but this was not the case this year, and a score of 13 or more was required to proceed. The top scorers in Round 1 were:

  • New York (state) Epicgenius, a finalist last year, who led the field with 1906 points, gained from 32 GAs and 19 DYKs, all on the topic of New York buildings.
  • Christmas Island AryKun, new to the contest, was second with 1588 points, having achieved 2 FAs, 11 GAs and various other submissions, mostly on the subject of birds.
  • Kingdom of Scotland Bloom6132, a WikiCup veteran, was in third place with 682 points, garnered from 51 In the news items and several DYKs.
  • Philadelphia GhostRiver was close behind with 679 points, gained from achieving 12 GAs, mostly on ice hockey players, and 35 GARs.
  • United Nations Kavyansh.Singh was in fifth place with 551 points, with an FA, a FL, and many reviews.
  • SounderBruce was next with 454 points, gained from an FA and various other submissions, mostly on United States highways.
  • United Nations Ktin, another WikiCup veteran, was in seventh place with 412 points, mostly gained from In the news items.

These contestants, like all the others who qualified for Round 2, now have to start scoring points again from scratch. Between them, contestants completed reviews of a large number of good articles as the contest ran concurrently with a GAN backlog drive. Well done all! To qualify for Round 3, contestants will need to finish Round 2 among the top thirty-two participants.

Remember that any content promoted after the end of Round 1 but before the start of Round 2 can be claimed in Round 2. Anything that should have been claimed for in Round 1 is no longer eligible for points. Invitations for collaborative writing efforts or any other discussion of potentially interesting work is always welcome on the WikiCup talk page. Remember, if two or more WikiCup competitors have done significant work on an article, all can claim points. If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed.

Some issues[edit]

Since my edits summaries don't seem to be reaching you...

Thank you for your recent edits to song articles, especially the captions. However, I'd like to point some things out. Please do not remove the "Weekly charts" and "Year-end charts" subsections. It may seem redundant to keep these subsections if you add captions, but this is not how we format Charts subsections. You are quite possibly the only editor I've seen who does it this way. Also, please do not combine sortable tables. This causes issues during sorting—a desktop user such as myself cannot determine which year a song appeared on a year-end chart if we sort the charts because the headers all lump together. Respond if you have any questions or concerns. ResPM (T🔈🎵C) 01:30, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Welp, you caught me guilty as charged. Yep, I did initially removed the section headers cause I found them redundant. Sorry. Also, I did not pay attention to the summaries because I was focused on adding 2002 Canada year-end positions to article from Canada. 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 01:32, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Also, ResPM, there actually is a reason why I'm specifically writing "Canada Single Sales" for those YE positions. It only measures the physical sales of singles, as there's a separate chart for airplay-only (named Hits). 👨x🐱 (Nina CortexxCoco Bandicoot) 01:35, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I understand why you wrote that, but I usually tend to keep chart entries consistent among tables, which is why I took out the "Single Sales" part. When I first started editing seriously, I saw "Canada (Nielsen SoundScan)" constantly, so it stuck with me. There isn't technically anything wrong with how you're formatting it, but consistency keeps readers from asking questions like "Is the Singles Sales chart different the aforementioned Nielsen SoundScan chart?" You see what I mean? It makes readability a little easier. ResPM (T🔈🎵C) 01:41, 22 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
