Welcome[edit]

Hello, HypatiaX, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may be removed if they have not yet been. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles. As well, all new biographies of living people must contain at least one reliable source.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  KillerChihuahua?!?Advice 18:18, 16 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 03:36, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yea, I did miss a sig, thanks SineBot.

HypatiaX (talk) 14:53, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, SineBot is a bot, which means there is no one making these edits or reading responses. He's just a program. KillerChihuahua?!?Advice 15:12, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Why can't I appreciate the bot? I think it's good practice. HypatiaX (talk) 15:56, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Misogyny[edit]

I've reverted your massive blanking of material, not because I necessarily disagree with it but because that much removal needs broader discussion and consensus on the article's talk page. 69.181.248.16 (talk) 04:44, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've posted on the talk page. No one seems interested. Join the discussion with me there. If I make small edits, will you discriminate in your reversions HypatiaX (talk) 14:52, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

June 2011[edit]

The recent edit you made to Misogyny constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to vandalize pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you. 4twenty42o (talk) 05:08, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry 4twenty42o. Btw, your bias very clearly shows in your Hitler's-Bday SN. Lol, jk of course. HypatiaX (talk) 15:04, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Your bias is showing very clearly in your edits and edit comments. 69.181.248.16 (talk) 05:11, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I started using sarcasm in my comments because I can't understand why someone is defending the pro-misogynistic bias of this page while I try to implement a more neutral tone. My original comments weren't sarcastic. It doesn't matter what my personal bias is if it's not leaking into the page content but I will censor my comments in the future as it seems to be tipping you off that I am not a misogynist and it's clear you only want a misogynist's take on misogyny. HypatiaX (talk) 14:59, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not vandalize pages, as you did with this edit to Misogyny. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. 4twenty42o (talk) 05:12, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This edit is definitely not vandalism and it's not bias or sarcasm either. I think that to assert that the misogyny of these men was 'alleged' implies the thesis of this section is on the controversy surrounding the allegation. But the section just lists some random misogynistic insults. My removal of a few of them to make it more reasonable was reverted. So, next I thought I would remove the word 'alleged' so the thesis of the section was consistent. You're right about the Discussion page. I'll introduce this for discussion as soon as my ban is lifted. HypatiaX (talk) 15:09, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. You will be blocked from editing the next time you vandalize a page, as you did with this edit to Misogyny. 4twenty42o (talk) 05:15, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This was a good faith edit. The Buddhism section of the Misogyny article could neutrally link to a 'Main' article called "Misogyny in Buddhism." It is a subtle but inappropriate slur to both women and Buddhism to imply the primary subject of "Women in Buddhism" is "Misogyny in Buddhism." HypatiaX (talk) 17:12, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Look, you've been reverted, warned and referred to the article's talk page. You really should stop removing content and discuss your proposed changes before you get blocked, assuming it's not too late already. 69.181.248.16 (talk) 05:19, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 31 Hours for Disruptive Editing. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. FASTILY (TALK) 06:23, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's worth noting that I didn't know about this talk page or I would have noticed the warning sooner. I won't miss it in the future. HypatiaX (talk) 15:02, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This block is preventing me from editing my request for third party opinion. I would edit my accusation-- I am suggesting a non-Wikipedia (external) bot is assisting in systematic reverts of the Misogyny page. The reversions were sweeping and did not indicate attention to the content of my edits. HypatiaX (talk) 16:10, 17 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Once the block expires, you can edit your request for 3rd party opinion. 31 hours will not make a big difference to that - the problem will still be there, the evidence will still be in the page histories. PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 01:03, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I am requesting my block be lifted because it is no longer necessary. I am not a vandal and 4twenty42o readily acknowledges baiting me. I will ignore any instigation in the future. My continued editing following the warning was a good faith n00b mistake. I should have known where the warnings were located on my talk page. I was communicating with 4twenty20o and 69.181.248.16 through my edits which was a mistake I will not repeat. I will no longer used sarcastic comments and sweeping edits. I will discuss and continue with constructive edits. In this edit, I removed Women in Buddhism as the 'Main' article of the Buddhism subsection of the Misogyny article. This is both good faith and a neutrality improvement because, whereas the Buddhism section of the Misogyny article could neutrally link to a 'Main' article called "Misogyny in Buddhism," it is a subtle but inappropriate slur to both women and Buddhism to imply the primary subject of Women in Buddhism is "Misogyny in Buddhism." I'm sorry for the rest of this mess, it won't happen again.

Decline reason:

I'm sorry, but you received plenty of warnings over the few hours before your block. You cannot claim ignorance of the fact that you had warnings on this talk page - whenever you edit after a message has been left here, there is a big yellow box at the top of every page you visit telling you that you have new message(s). You seem to be saying here what you think we want to hear. I see nothing where 4twenty42o acknowledges baiting you, unless I'm missing it somewhere? PhantomSteve/talk|contribs\ 00:59, 18 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Your article submission Women Impacting the Nation[edit]

Hello HypatiaX. It has been over six months since you last edited your article submission, entitled Women Impacting the Nation.

The page will shortly be deleted. If you plan on editing the page to address the issues raised when it was declined and resubmit it, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}} or {{db-g13}} code. Please note, however, that Articles for Creation is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. HasteurBot (talk) 05:02, 14 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
