Recent changes
- Wikis using the Growth team tools can now show the name of a newcomer's mentor anywhere through a magic word. This can be used for welcome messages or userboxes.
- A new version of the VideoCutTool is now available. It enables cropping, trimming, audio disabling, and rotating video content. It is being created as part of the developer outreach programs.
Problems
- There was a problem with the job queue. This meant some functions did not save changes and mass messages were delayed. This did not affect wiki edits. [1]
- Some editors may not be logged in to their accounts automatically in the latest versions of Firefox and Safari. [2]
Changes later this week
The new version of MediaWiki will be on test wikis and MediaWiki.org from 2 March. It will be on non-Wikipedia wikis and some Wikipedias from 3 March. It will be on all wikis from 4 March (calendar).

A message from PoliticsIsExciting
[edit]Hey! I've been working on the Yale University page in hopes of one day bringing it to Good Article status. I've seen how you were the one to initially propose merging the CancelYale page to the Yale University page. The discussion over it (that has been relatively small) has lasted since September, and the general consensus seems to merge (7 supports vs 3 oppose altogether; two of the opposes were IP's as well). Obviously, with the Good Article intention, I'd prefer to have this resolved. I know any editor can perform a merge, but I'm still a relatively new user (only been around since last October), so I'm unfamiliar with the process of merging articles. Would you be willing to merge them (or not merge, your decision I suppose)? Any help with this or general comments would be greatly appreciated! PoliticsIsExciting (talk) 04:49, 7 March 2021 (UTC)
