Orphan tagging

Hi! It just came to my notice that at least some of the articles you just recently tagged as orphans via AutoWikiBrowser are not actually orphans, as at least one article links to them. For instance, I just reverted a few of the orphan tags on some beetles taxa articles just now (Glyptoscelis albicans and Pachybrachis subfasciatus, for reference), but checking your contributions there are more that appear to be the same way. Just wanted to double check with you first though: was this intentional, or was this somehow an error? Or something else? Monster Iestyn (talk) 23:07, 4 October 2022 (UTC)

@Monster Iestyn FYI, I followed through on double-checking AWB settings; for some reason, the "only add {{orphan}} to linkless pages" had been unchecked. I'm not sure how, but it could be a user error. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 00:01, 8 October 2022 (UTC)

Ah, that would explain it... checking the manual for AWB myself now, I see that by default auto-adds the orphan tag if there are less than 3 incoming links. Unfortunately from my experience, for many taxon pages at least there likely will only ever be one incoming link at best. Thank you for updating me on that, in any case. @Ntebogeng Mda No, it's not really okay to write or edit about your company on Wikipedia. We just put up with it because people will do it regardless of the rules we have (or don't have) in place. People always write promotionally about themselves and the company they work for even if they don't intend to. Other companies grow in spite of lacking a Wikipedia article, and yours will too.
