How did I create a citation? --Kieran375 (talk) 22:09, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Kieran375 Put simply, you put a source between two <ref></ref> tags. So, <ref>Source</ref>. You can find more information at WP:REFBEGIN and ask more questions if you have them. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 22:45, 11 June 2024 (UTC)
Hello! I'm Dru, and I'm a long-time reader and pretty new editor to Wikipedia. I mainly just try and correct small errors as I'm reading. I was recently on the page for the 1992 Aladdin movie, and noticed one of the quotes attributed to Robin Williams did not match what was included in the cited sources. I edited the body paragraph to match the quoted source, but I was reverted by a bot almost immediately (not mad about this part! I know bots help keep Wikipedia running).
I was wondering if you could advise me on the best way to make these edits in the future to avoid vandalism autoreversion. Thank you for your time! --Druveon (talk) 18:10, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
- Apologies, I just re-read your user page and saw that you're on a Wikibreak, I'm going to ask my question at the Teahouse :) Druveon (talk) 18:29, 12 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Druveon While appreciated, I'm pretty good at responding to talk page messages. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 05:36, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
Question from Daniel Plumber (04:22, 13 June 2024)
[edit]Hi sir/madam, How can I import templates from other languages to English Wiki and vice versa? --Daniel Plumber (talk) 04:22, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Daniel Plumber The English Wikipedia has almost all the templates it needs. You should probably go ahead and edit Wikipedia for a bit before creating a template, anyways.
- If you are determined to translate templates in spite of my caution, Help:Template reads:
To create a template, choose an appropriate name, navigate to that page, then click the "Edit" tab or create a new page as needed.
Templates are normally placed in the template namespace, though you can place a template intended for your own personal use or for experimentation in your own user space.
Before creating a template, do a quick search for existing templates (such as by exploring Category:Wikipedia templates) to see if there is already a template that does what you want or a similar template whose code can be copied and modified (or left in place and expanded). Look for generic templates on which the new template can be based; for example, you can create a navbox template easily by creating a brief template that calls the generic Template:Navbox.
There is no hard rule about what name to choose for a template—make it short but reasonably descriptive. If similar templates exist, try to follow a consistent naming pattern. You can rename a template without breaking existing transclusions (what is called breakage) by leaving a redirect to the new template name.- Please read the links in the green backgrounded text above before translating templates. Question from Marcellintehe1 on International email (05:43, 13 June 2024)
[edit]What is international email mean? And what is it the email? --Marcellintehe1 (talk) 05:43, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Marcellintehe1 It seems that international email addresses can use non-Latin scripts. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 05:49, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
Question from CountyBlue (23:25, 13 June 2024)
[edit]How do I add a link from new wiki page to articles on other pages or to a website. Thankyou --CountyBlue (talk) 23:25, 13 June 2024 (UTC)
- @CountyBlue: To add links to a Wikipedia article, you add double brackets around the article title. So, like this: [[Example]] . To add a link to a Wikipedia article, just treat like you would any other site link. If you want to add a link to an entire other website to a Wikipedia article, first you look at the guidelines about that sort of thing, then you put the link between single brackets ([https://example.com])I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 23:42, 13 June 2024 (UTC)

Can you see if I have created the page? --CountyBlue (talk) 07:11, 14 June 2024 (UTC)

Question from Esrun200333 (03:14, 16 June 2024)
[edit]Hello! How to remove URL, super and subscript, and images --Esrun200333 (talk) 03:14, 16 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Esrun200333 A URL would be in between single brackets ( https://example.com ) in source editor; in visual editor, you'll highlight the text and click on the italic A that's towards the top of the article and slightly towards the left. Then click on the word "remove."
- For super and subscript, it's {{sup}}/, and {{sub}}/ in source editor, respectively. In visual editor, it's the same instructions as above.
- Images are linked as [[File:Example.jpg]] in source editor. You just remove the link, and the image is removed. In visaul editor, you just click the image and hit backspace. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 03:23, 16 June 2024 (UTC)

Question from Daniel Plumber (02:03, 18 June 2024)
[edit]Hi,
Is FOX21 considered a reliable source under Wikipedia's guidelines? --Daniel Plumber (talk) 02:03, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Daniel Plumber Good thing you asked. It's reliable, as long as you avoid politics and science. However, questions have been raised as to the reliability of Fox News with any subject. A local news affiliate might broadcast more "news" and less "science and politics," though. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 02:14, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
Question from Daniel Plumber (02:06, 18 June 2024)
[edit]Hello,
Is it possible to create redirect links from English Wikipedia to other languages and vice versa? Thanks. --Daniel Plumber (talk) 02:06, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Daniel Plumber You can, through inter-language links. Reading H:FOREIGNLINK can help with this. Why would you want to do that, though? I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 02:16, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- There are several interesting articles on the Simple English Wikipedia that do not have corresponding pages on the English Wikipedia. I would like to add links to these relevant articles in "See also" sections. Daniel Plumber (talk) 02:22, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Daniel Plumber I guess that makes sense. It might even inspire someone to write the article. Double check that the article doesn't exist here, though. The "normal" English Wikipedia is bigger than the Simple English Wikipedia. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 02:24, 18 June 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Chenabi (disambiguation)
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Chenabi (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 16:18, 28 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Shhhnotsoloud I might be the de jure creator of the disambiguation page, but I'm not sure if I'm the de facto creator. I'm experiencing a bit of lag while double checking; you might get another ping. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 16:29, 28 June 2024 (UTC)
- @Shhhnotsoloud Oh! I think I know what happened. I probably created the page, perhaps semi-automatically, while disambiguation links to it, and then it was turned into an article. I get it. The speedy deletion is all a part of Wikipedian business, and nothing personal. I dream of horses (Hoofprints) (Neigh at me) 16:37, 28 June 2024 (UTC)
