Speedy Deletion and WP:BITE

[edit]

Hi there! I very much appreciate your work patrolling new pages. However, I'd like to draw your attention to Wikipedia's policy on biting the newcomers. Tagging a page for deletion moments after creation is considered uncivil and may drive away newcomers whose edits are made in good faith. It's generally a good idea to give a page no less than 10 minutes before tagging unless, of course, it's an attack page or some other sort of vandalism. Also, take a look at this template which allows you to give multiple reasons for deletion if an article fits into multiple categories. If I can be of any assistance, you know where to find me. --Non-Dropframe talk 20:04, 12 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

patrolling SUPERCOMMUNITY=

[edit]

hello Iamahashtag, I saw that you're patrolling the SUPERCOMMUNITY page I just created, are there questions about this I can answer? It's unclear why you elected to patrol the page seconds after I published it. Please let me know and many thanks. Morelcasares (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 20:43, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I refreshed my browser, and it is at the top of Special:NewPages. It looked legit, so I reviewed it. I'm a bit curious as to why people think I'm a robot.

Fapore

[edit]

Hi, Iamahashtag. I think the original author of the article on Fapore really wanted to create an article, not a test edit called "How to create content". The place exists, I can provide a reference. I cleaned up the article, so I don't think it needs to be deleted. Thus, the only reason the redirect needs to be deleted is that it is non-plausible. ubiquity (talk) 20:45, 18 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello Iamahashtag. Thanks for patrolling new pages – it's a very important task! I'm just letting you know, however, that you shouldn't tag pages as lacking context (CSD A1), or content (CSD A3), moments after they are created. It's best to wait at least 10–15 minutes for more content to be added if the page is very short, and the articles should not be marked as patrolled. Tagging such pages in a very short space of time may drive away well-meaning contributors, which is not good for Wikipedia. Attack pages (G10), blatant nonsense (G1), copyright violations (G12) and pure vandalism/blatant hoaxes (G3) should of course be tagged and deleted immediately. Thanks.Adam9007 (talk) 23:36, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What about (WP:CSD#A7)? Is there a policy regarding the tagging of those cases? Iamahashtag (talk) 23:42, 19 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please slow down the speedy deletion tagging

[edit]

I just declined your speedy deletion tagging of Heart Is a Drum. You tagged it as no content the same minute as it was created. There is no reason to tag articles that quick unless it is an attack page or a copyright violation. Please do not tag most articles that quickly again. -- GB fan 01:23, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

New page patrol - Corsa Specialised Vehicles

[edit]

Hello Iamahashtag, you marked Corsa Specialised Vehicles as reviewed few hours ago and you did not tagged it for deletion. The page was previously deleted by admin some hours ago for A7 and G11 violations. New Pages like Corsa Specialised Vehicles is not notable enough to get a Wikipedia page. companies like this use Wikipedia as an advertisement tool. please do a google search and see if companies like this are notable, only very well known companies with multiple citations from trusted sources can only have wikipedia page, 4 or 5 references is not enough to get a page in Wikipedia please remember that and also read A7 and G11. please take this as an advice. thank you :) Nicky mathew (talk) 21:04, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I do want to point out the requirement for G11 is unambiguous advertisement. That can be rather hard to determine occasionally. As to A7, well, it might not have passed there I guess. Thanks for the advice. Iamahashtag (talk) 23:20, 20 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest you check the page once again and revert your proposed deletion tag. I mentioned i will develop the page. I can't even relieve myself or what?--Cosmic  Emperor  03:17, 21 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Fullbeauty Speedy Deletion

Hi, I was in the middle of creating my article and adding references when you flagged it for speedy deletion. Please review again, as the references have been added. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fullbeauty Tonyeny (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 14:57, 22 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

June 2015

[edit]

Information icon Hi. Thank you for your help with the vital work of patrolling new pages. I noticed that you are not marking some of the pages you've reviewed as patrolled. Please do remember to click the 'mark this page as patrolled' link at the bottom of the new page if you have performed the standard patrolling tasks. Where appropriate, doing so saves time and work by informing fellow patrollers of your review of the page, so that they do not duplicate efforts. Thanks again for volunteering your time at the new pages patrol project. I dream of horses (talk to me) (contributions) @ 03:17, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@I dream of horses: Thank you for your comment. I apologize. Is there anyway to "unpatrol" a page? Thanks again. Iamahashtag (talk) 03:23, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No worries, someone else can click the green checkmark. just keep in mind that twinkle will only patrol a page if you're tagging for cleanup or CSD. --I dream of horses (talk to me) (contributions) @ 03:25, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@I dream of horses: Green check mark? Anyway, thanks for that twinkle info. Iamahashtag (talk) 03:28, 23 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hmm...rereading that warning, it's accurate, but outdated. If you go to new pages feed, there will a curation bar with a checkmark that turns from gray to green when you click on it. It's a modern way of patrolling. :-) I dream of horses If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{Ping|I dream of horses}} to your message. What is the best story listed at Redirects for discussion

[edit]

An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect What is the best story. Since you had some involvement with the What is the best story redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you have not already done so. Adam9007 (talk) 00:55, 25 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

redirect

[edit]

Hi hashtag, I reversed your redirect as Losing Ground (film) could refer to either the one I started or the Losing Ground of the same name from 2005. Itwallizard (talk) 00:20, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I looked around at other film pages, makes sense. A+ Itwallizard (talk) 00:29, 26 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of List of pseudonyms used in the American Constitutional debates, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://literatelobstersareliterate.tumblr.com/post/9529926804/list-of-pseudonyms-used-in-the-american.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. I have unreviewed a page you curated

[edit]

Hi, I'm SwisterTwister. I wanted to let you know that I saw the page you reviewed, Merlin Sutter, and have un-reviewed it again. If you have any questions, please ask them on my talk page. Thank you. SwisterTwister talk 04:53, 9 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I am not convinced that creating this article constituted WP:vandalism, but it certainly was a WP:A1 candidate. RichardOSmith (talk) 20:06, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Among other reasons, there was a similarly named page, with identical content. They may have both been WP:G2,but I'm not sure. Iamahashtag (talk) 20:08, 11 July 2015 (UTC) There is also identical talk page content. 20:10, 11 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Words of Gold and Cupcake Sweet Entertainment

Hi there, noticed your suggestion to delete my recently created articles. I understand they are out of the guidelines and will make the necessary updated as I believe both of them are important, having half a million users. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gabrielsturmer (talkcontribs) 17:21, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New deal for page patrollers

[edit]

Hi Iamahashtag,

In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.

Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.

Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings Recent Changes Patrollers!

This is a one-time-only message to inform you about technical proposals related to Recent Changes Patrol in the 2016 Community Wishlist Survey that I think you may be interested in reviewing and perhaps even voting for:

  1. Adjust number of entries and days at Last unpatrolled
  2. Editor-focused central editing dashboard
  3. "Hide trusted users" checkbox option on watchlists and related/recent changes (RC) pages
  4. Real-Time Recent Changes App for Android
  5. Shortcut for patrollers to last changes list

Further, there are more than 20 proposals related to Watchlists in general that you may be interested in reviewing. (and over 260 proposals in all, across many aspects of wikis)

Thank you for your consideration. Please note that voting for proposals continues through December 12, 2016.

Note: You received this message because you have transcluded {{User wikipedia/RC Patrol}} (user box) on your user page. Since this message is "one-time-only" there is no opt out for future mailings.
