Why the DreamGuy involvement?[edit]

Your status as a sockpuppeteer makes your support of the user conduct RfC on DreamGuy just a big distraction, just as your proposal for arbitration did. It would be better if you would just withdraw. As far as I can tell, you have had no interaction with him or other reason to be very aware of his conduct. Let me know if I'm wrong. And please confirm whether User:You Are Okay is related to you. Dicklyon 06:44, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am not related to that user. --Ideogram 06:46, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ideogram, are you operating any other sock puppets? If you disclose this information, that would help. Thanks. Jehochman Talk 13:41, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes I am. --Ideogram 16:20, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed image sizes[edit]

Hi mate. I don't know what you might referring to? I use px out of habit. If wikipedia has a problem with using fixed sizes then the technology wouldn't allow for it. Often images look too big or too small etc for the page -but I guess people have different settings. I use Cologne Blue for the main setting for instance - it looks much more professional ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 17:35, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, people have different settings, and pages need to be flexible and adjust. There are uses for fixed image sizes, such as enlarging an image that needs to show detail, but I don't see that requirement for your images. Do you mind if I remove your fixed image size specifications?
PS; Thanks for all your work on geographical features of Taiwan. --Ideogram 17:41, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Its fine if the image is still there and looks a respectable size -fine. Yes I've done some work on Taiwan today. I recently added all the districts of Tibet and Cambodia -the next stage is to start covering these countries fully and entirely rather than concentrating on the main cities. I haven't done much geowork for a while but there is so much needing doing - I am all for even global coverage on wikipedia. Plus there are about 2,500 quality images to be uploaded to the commons on Taiwan -the licensing is compatible as long as it is attributed. I love images!!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 17:56, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

But aren't these trivialities? Is it particularly important if it is linked or not? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 17:57, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It's not that important, but I wanted to make sure you didn't mind if I fixed them. I obsess over details like this. --Ideogram 18:00, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Check out the new Danshui River page and those images!! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 17:59, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well I guess you did and everything else I've done today. Please put back the image of the government building in that relevant section on the Taipei page thankyou -the pretty street image can be moved to the gallery as it wasn't discussed in the article. Hopefully this article can be fully expanded so image won't be cluttered . ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 19:10, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Considering Category:Rivers of Taiwan didn't exist earlier today thats not bad going huh? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 19:16, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You have done an incredible job. I take my hat off to you. --Ideogram 19:17, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Taipei now looks much better now you've fixed sizing and restored the government image. I really think we need a long section on cityscape - covering all the landmarks of the city including some street/architectural images. Eventually I'd like to see an article like Shopping in Taipei or something. What do you think about that new section? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 19:20, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, there is an enormous amount that could be said about Shopping in Taipei. --Ideogram 19:23, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

your two cents?[edit]

Mind if you chip in your two cents here? Take into consideration this section. Pandacomics 19:58, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ahahahah. Love your comment. Thanks for the input! (thumbs up) Pandacomics 20:12, 9 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on List of libraries in Taipei, by Ernst Stavro Blofeld (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because List of libraries in Taipei fits the criteria for speedy deletion for the following reason:

Is this really necessary unless it is expanded?

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting List of libraries in Taipei, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 15:56, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ideo. I don't think the libraries list can qualify unless all the 60 libraries are given. The list of museums though is fine. I have added much of the bulk of the cityscape -for me if I want to know somethng about a city I want to know whats in it physically!!! It will of course be gradually cut down and rewritten to stick to the most important facts and be focused. We need sections on education, sports, media, arts, religion, demographics etc. I was quite surprised so much was missing ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 16:47, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I also can't beleive an article on one of the world's most important economic cities in terms of high-tech production doesn't have a section on its economy!! It barely mentions it in the intro! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 17:16, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

An Arbitration case involving you has been opened: Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Allegations of apartheid. Please add any evidence you may wish the Arbitrators to consider to the evidence sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Allegations of apartheid/Evidence. You may also contribute to the case on the workshop sub-page, Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Allegations of apartheid/Workshop.

On behalf of the Arbitration Committee, Newyorkbrad 18:02, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Content dispute[edit]

Indeed. It is easy to underline this is a content dispute when the article Allegations of the country I like apartheid has been deleted. So, given everything has been said concerning your case in this ArbCom, I would suggest you just leave that case or would participate to find a global solution... Alithien 19:02, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not post on my talk page again. --Ideogram 19:03, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MedcabBot[edit]

Hiya Ideogram!

TS access issues here, so I talked to Misza13, who's willing to run MedcabBot. He says he's happy to do it, but wants to "iron out the bugs and details of the bot itself" so you may want to contact him regarding it.

Thanks! ~Kylu (u|t) 21:25, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Comments on the workshop[edit]

Hi Ideogram. On Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Allegations of apartheid/Workshop you've asked users who are replying to you in threaded discussion to "move your comment to your section." While you're correct that they should put their initial thoughts under their applicable header, it is appropriate for them to reply to you directly under your comment. This is so we know who is responding to who. Picaroon (t) 22:13, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. --Ideogram 23:12, 12 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Salting[edit]

Yep, that's the term. See WP:SALT for details. >Radiant< 09:55, 13 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Banned[edit]

I have closed the recent thread at the community sanctions notice board with a consensus to siteban you for a period of no less than 1 year. The discussion can be found here. and is also here. Your ban time will reset every time that a sockpuppet is found. Chrislk02 (Chris Kreider) 15:12, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm surprised at this decision. My understanding was that sockpuppets are tolerated as long as they are not used to abuse policy, and the abuses noted here are minor and months old. I could simply have lied about the socks and I doubt checkuser could have found them. But if the community decides my presence is unwelcome, I will gladly leave. --Ideogram 20:26, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
People have been unbanned before. If you reveal the remaining socks, and show that you mean to stop disrupting the project, I will make a case for you to be unbanned. This decision wouldn't be undertaken lightly and it would take some time. - Jehochman Talk 21:14, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I would oppose any such course of action. Ideogram has shown himself to be one of the greatest liabilities of Wikipedia. --Ghirla-трёп- 06:46, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well Girlandajo, that reduces the weight on my conscience for having gotten him banned in the first place. Keep your eyes open for socks. Ideogram suggested that he has more. - Jehochman Talk 13:18, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry this happened[edit]

Sorry they banned you, and thanks for following through with the AfD of Allegations of Chinese apartheid. That whole thing was ridiculous. Don't know if you'll want to engage in the WP bureaucracy to try to get yourself unbanned, but hey, there's always Chinese WP. It needs lots of work anyway. Hong Qi Gong (Talk - Contribs) 01:16, 17 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I, too, am an Ideogram supporter. As they said on the RfC, you, sir, are amazing at weeding. Keep fighting the good fight, and we'll see you next August! Pandacomics 20:51, 30 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't been on Wikipedia lately, so I just realized now that you are gone. If you ever want to make a return, I will support you based on your constructive editing in Taiwan-related articles (excluding the edit warring). =) Aquarius • talk 18:01, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

IdeoBot deflagged[edit]

Your bot, IdeoBot which was approved and flagged some time ago has now been deflagged due to your present Community ban. If you return to editing after your ban expires and wish to run your bot again, feel free to return to the requests for bot approval page where you can reapply for your bot's task and flag. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the BAG or myself. WjBscribe 01:59, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that you have revised either Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri or Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire.

I intend to revise those articles following the Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Article guidelines. There are more details on the discussion pages of those articles. I'd be interested in any comments you have. It would be best if your comments were on the discussion pages of the two articles.

Thank you.

A common problem[edit]

Dear Wikipedist editor, I want to submit to your attention an our common problem: disruptive contributions and edit warring operated by user Derek farn (talk). This latter shows systematically a provoking behaviour and lacking of respect for other people’s work, typical of vandalism. I’ve sent this communication to many people having the same problem in order to organize a collective protest/action request directed to e.g. the Arbitration Committee or Requests for comment/User conduct (this latter procedure requires the participation of at least two users) or to the Wikipedia Community. If you agree with this initiative please contact me at this dedicated email address: clipeaster-1971 AT yahoo DOT com. In order to avoid creating of a forum section dedicated to Derek farn I suggest you to delete this communication once you’ve read it and, then, be in contact via email. Any suggestion are welcomed. I look forward to hearing from you. Best regards, Structuralgeol (talk) 18:16, 15 July 2011 (UTC).[reply]

As another user pointed out to me that suggesting to be in contact outside wikipedia is not a correct way, for transparency reasons, so I conclude that we need to correspond via talk page. Best regards, Structuralgeol (talk) 02:35, 16 July 2011 (UTC).[reply]
