Thank You, first time creation of a new page, guess I missed the Mr. Know-It-All link, I just clicked on the referenced link for creating a user page. Since my intent is to make IdioT.SavanT.i4 and IdioT_SavanT_i4 a recognisable and trusted name for free computer help & advice, (and some other areas as well), is it considered self-promotion to have a regular page for it as well? IdioT.SavanT.i4

There are guidelines and policies on notability (Wikipedia:Notability), and also on self-promotion (WP:NOT#Wikipedia_is_not_a_soapbox). Aside from the policy/guideline pages, reading through the articles for deletion (WP:AFD) discussions might give you an idea of what is and isn't considered notable and/or self-promotion. Regarding your recent RFC on Bill Clinton. It is generally customary to start a discussion first on the Clinton Talk page, and then place a wider RFC if the issue can't be resolved. Up to you, but people will find it rather surprising to follow an RFC link and find no existing discussion. It's generally viewed as a place to invite wider commentary on an existing discussion, which editors can't resolve. Thank you Derex, I'll catch upon the help topics soon. I was and continue to encourage "truth in lending" for all discussions. The lack of Ken Starr's excesses and mention of the "vast right-wing conspiracy" were such glaring ommissions, I felt compelled to dive into that one. I don't nomally moralize but it seems the discussions around this subject continue to be politicized to death. I, for one, am tired of it, the man is gone, let it die. Any more discussion should be in the sevice of history not more attempts to further someone's political agenda. It's hard to be fair, I don't like the Clintons, but it was something that needed a correction. Better to be correct than right.
- I think you've hit upon a general problem in wikipedia; it's often used as a place to take political cheap shots. It's a real balancing act to fairly present both criticisms and criticisms of the critics. It's made more complicated by the constant influx of new editors who don't understand what wikipedia is about. Debate forums section of Pwn article[edit]

I have removed the section you added, not because I necessarily disagree, but because you provided no sources for it. The Pwn article starts out by saying, "a term used primarily in the Internet gaming culture", not solely in gaming culture. Whether it's in a game or on a forum, the term still refers to soundly defeating an opponent. I would ask that if you'd like to continue the debate on the talk page, that you come with more reliable sources and less gamer hatred. --Onorem 11:42, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RE: YahElite[edit]

Thank you for the message you left on my talk page [1]. Regarding your question about YahElite, Wikipedia operates via notability requirements that have been determined by the community. Web-based content like YahElite falls under the Wikipedia:Notability (web) guideline, which specifies that in order for a topic to be deemed notable enough to have its own Wikipedia article, it must meet one of the following:

coverage by multiple, reliable, third-party, published works (such as an article about the application in the magazine Newsweek or the International Herald Tribune newspaper)
won a well-known and independent award from either a publication or organization

The third criteria does not really apply to YahElite since it is a third-party application (and by definition cannot be distributed by a respected and independent provider (like Yahoo itself).
