Non-free use of File:Arsenal FC.svg in Arsenal F.C. Under-23s and Academy[edit]
Hi Idiosincrático. If you missed the notifications about File:Arsenal FC.svg's non-free use at the top of its file talk page, then that's OK; for reference, that file was previously removed from Arsenal F.C. Under-23s and Academy by an administrator named Explicit per this discussion because its non-free in that particular article was deemed to be non-compliant with Wikipedia's non-free content use policy. While I'm sure you re-added the file to the article and re-added a non-free use rationale to the file's page in good faith, you can't really supersede a previously established consensus in such a way. If you feel the situation has changed and that the file's non-free use in the article is now justified, you should follow the guidance given in WP:CLOSECHALLENGE and discuss things with Explicit on their user talk page. The file File:Football Gold Coast Crest.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Non-free former logo being used in a WP:DECORATIVE manner in Football Queensland South Coast#Antecedent bodies. Non-free former logos can be used as long as their use complies with WP:NFC#cite_note-4 and this almost always means the logo itself about the logo and the associated change in brandling that led to its replacement is the subject of sourced critical commentary. Simply adding the logo to "show" what it looks like is not considered sufficient to satisfy WP:NFC#CS, except in cases where the logo is being used for primary identification purposes at the top of or in the main infobox of an article about the organization the logo represents.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Category changes[edit]
Hi, I saw you've been changing on pages categories of "FFA Cup" to "Australia Cup". In general a correct change. However, the way you have done it (creating a new "Australia Cup" category, removing "FFA Cup" and adding "Australia Cup", then tagging "FFA Cup" for deletion) seems wrong? - I agree with the above. Copying old page content and pasting into new pages is considered an out-of-process move. It fails to give proper attribution to editors who created the original page. I have now merged the page history of three categories (Category:Australia Cup (1962–1968) finals, Category:Australia Cup seasons and Category:Australia Cup), but it would be a lot less work for you and for admins if you would use WP:CFD (or in this case WP:CFDS). For one thing, more eyes on the name sometimes end up with a better result, and for another, a bot would move all the article pages. Introduction to contentious topics[edit]
You have recently edited a page related to the Balkans or Eastern Europe, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. With regard to [1], please avoid making such drastic changes that are ahistorical. Despite whatever "inheritance" issues exist with football governing bodies and whatnot, the breakup of Yugoslavia is a well-documented historical fact, and presenting the history of Yugoslavia as solely the history of Serbia is just so weird. --Joy (talk) 10:01, 5 December 2023 (UTC)
