Help me![edit]

Hi! I'm wondering if after I make an edit or addition to a Wikipedia page I need to sign my name. I know I need to add the four Ieesharoberts (talk) 02:59, 7 February 2019 (UTC) in talk pages, but not sure about other contexts. Thank you![reply]

Good question. You shouldn't sign edits to articles, because nobody owns the content of an article. We only use it in places (like Talk pages, and some pages under the Wikipedia: namespace) where we are specifically making comments as ourselves, not creating something collectively. Welcome to Wikipedia—it's great to have you! Gaelan 💬✏️ 05:05, 7 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome![edit]

Hello, Ieesharoberts, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.
