HI! Make sure you sign your name by typing this ~~~~. This automatically turns in to your signature. Being a recent changes patroller is entirely voluntary. It involves checking the recent changes to make sure that users are not vandalizing articles. See Wikipedia:Recent_changes_patrol, Wikipedia:Vandalism, and Wikipedia:Cleaning_up_vandalism for more info. - Hdt83 | Talk 02:43, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

To put warnings on someones talk page, go here. To put a warning like one for vandalism, copy and paste the codes that show there to the vandal's talk page. So {{subst:uw-vandalism1}} will give you:

PS: TO revert or remove vandalism, see here: Wikipedia:Revert. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Hdt83 (talkcontribs) 03:51, 26 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article How to go to Cerulean Cave, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. —M_C_Y_1008 (talk/contribs) 21:12, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

About you username.[edit]

Hi there, 55555five55555, and welcome to Wikipedia! I have noticed that your username might be confusing to some users. You might find somewhere where you can change your username like Wikipedia:Changing username or ask an administrator to rename your user for you. Thank you and happy wiki'ing! Reverting[edit]

If you need help in reverting, read Help:Reverting. I need to go to school so I don't have time to tell you the whole thing. Amos Han Talk 10:23, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There's no way to prevent someone from reverting before you, since it's just a function of timing. Other editors have no way of knowing that anyone else is editing a page. As for an edit summary, before I had the rollback tool I just gave "rvv" as an edit summary. If you're interested in reverting vandalism faster, you might want to investigate some of the automated scripts like Twinkle or VandalProof. Natalie 21:04, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Baseball[edit]

First, the stats were deleted because there was discussion and the consensus was that it was extremely exhausting to constantly update something that is gonna become out-of-date eventually.

Second, you can go to the page and edit it yourself and add your name to it if you want. There isn't anything special you have to do to get your name added.

Third, you can edit whichever team's articles you wish. --Ksy92003 22:01, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Admin[edit]

To be an administrator, please read Wikipedia:Guide to requests for adminship before nominating yourself on WP:RfA. Amos Han Talk 15:43, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Response[edit]

You asked:

How do you revert vandalized pages?

I know I am not Han Amos, but I can answer your question probably quicker.

You should see WP:REVERT. Might I suggest using an undo for single edits and reverts for multiple edits? --24.136.230.38 16:53, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

r v v[edit]

"rvv" is short for "revert vandalism", which is why I used it. Everyone does it a little differently. Some of the longer edit summaries you are probably seeing are automatically generated. For example, administrators' have the rollback button, which automatically generates the edit summary "reverted edits by ___ to last version by ___". There are other automated tools that non admins can apply to use, like Twinkly and Vandal Proof, which I believe also automatically generate edit summaries. Natalie 00:38, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome message[edit]

Thanks for welcoming new users. Two notes, though:

  1. A line in the message isn't reading right, printing "[[User talk:{{{2}}}|my talk page]]". You could change that by just subbing [[User talk:55555five55555|my talk page]] in.
  2. you seem to be missing a tag at the end--this ends the pretty rounded box at the bottom of your message, allowing later messages to appear normally. You might talk to User:Hdt83 (talk · contribs), too, for tips on how to make that welcome message more unique to you, as well. Cheers — Scientizzle 01:35, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And thanks for the barnstar! :) — Scientizzle 01:36, 15 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting Question[edit]

Hey! To see a complete list of warnings click here: Wikipedia:Template_messages/User_talk_namespace#Multi_level_templates. Also there isn't a standard procedure for those who remove or blank warnings. Some people just say its vandalism and post or report to AIV but others say removing stuff isn't vandalism. It just depends on what you think. There isn't an official name for this. -- Hdt83 Chat 05:21, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am the main updater on the page. However, I see you have your name down for that article. And I won't be able to make my usual standing updates, during the upcoming Dodgers vs Giants series. (Tuesday-Thursday) nor have I made my updates for April 22nd for the standings. Would it be possible for you to do it? It's a pretty boring job, I'll take it back next Friday. We have to update Wikipedia, though. Um, you can go to dodgers.com and go to the boxcore for the game and get the information or you can get it from ESPN Stats but I don't think they help you as much. Oh, btw, if you can't do it, just let me know. Hornberry 03:36, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I'm off to LAX in an hour or so. One question. Do you think it's best to leave it as it is or should the games in the batting stats only be games started. Remember sort by AVG, ERA. You've probably already figured that one out. OK, be back Friday. Hornberry 14:51, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Moved templates in to organized box[edit]

OK, I think I've fixed your rename request at WP:CHU. Could you check that its correct now? WjBscribe 03:29, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stats[edit]

Checking in now and then! I saw your comment. I would love to make the Dodgers 2007 season a featured article or something. I think we can do this with a few things:

1. Detalied Standings and Stats

2. Season Summary (Most of the stuff right now is stats and standings so a season summary would be good)

3. Trivia (Like how many times Grady Little, the Manager used the same lineup

4. Improvement of Players (could be in Trivia)

5. Injured Players and Their Status's

What do you think? For a beginning we can split the stats, do you want to do batting or pitching? I'll do the one you do not choose. And tell me what your new username will be. Hornberry 14:46, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name change[edit]

I see that you changed your username. I am going to Washington, DC and will come back to Wikipedia on April 29. Amos Han Talk 11:44, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Scoring plays etc.[edit]

Scoring plays? I'm not sure they would work because it just takes too much time and effort, and not many people care about it. If you look at the MLB Stats, I don't think they have scoring plays, but RBI's which we have already. I'm happy to update the stats and make them more detalied! Whenever your ready. I've removed it, if you feel happy to tell me why you think we should have it, let me know. Hornberry 14:37, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stats more etc.[edit]

Go ahead. The stuff now looks good any additional stuff would look better! Yeah, I'd keep it. You know I make several small changes but not much. I'll pitch in to do major stuff here and there and wherever I can. I have a few other tasks at the Wikiproject Baseball I have to do first. I am finally back from my trip. I remember when User:9999a9999 posted fake warnings at our talk pages. We are not administrators so we can't block people (or we can't get blocked by 9999a9999). Natalie Erin is the administrator. NHRHS2010 Talk 21:07, 13 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  1. I did create a username on Pokemon Crater. My username is the same as for here: Ksy92003. I wasn't planning on creating an article for it, as I don't have a lot of knowledge on the site, however. If you are knowledgeable, then by all means go for it.
  2. For the Dodgers season article, it's okay that you did it. I didn't realize that you did, also. Just be aware that by adding the word update within those two marks that causes an error with the edit summary, as when you click on the error it doesn't take you to that section because it assumes that the section's name has the word "update" in it. That's the only problem. It's not a really important error, and should be easy to correct. --Ksy92003 04:36, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you ?[edit]

Um... on my talk page, you said "Thanks for reverting vandalism User:MetsBot and User:^demonBot2 made." I regret to inform you that I haven't reverted any vandalism... as far as I am aware. Therefore, you needn't give me a barnstar. I want a barnstar, but I don't deserve one for something I didn't do. Thanks anyway. --Ksy92003 (talk) 05:02, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh... I know which edits you're talking about. To be honest, I kinda thought they were vandalism, also, but I wasn't gonna take any actions on it, as I don't really care so much about the players pages (except for Angels' players). But I have seen those edits, also. --Ksy92003 (talk) 13:05, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Arguing ?[edit]

Um... oh boy. Um... alright. First of all, I'm not in any argument with Hornberry. So I don't know where you got that from. I was asking him about something on the Dodgers page that was inserted by aviper2k7; nothing more.

I'm not trying to make this sound mean, but this is the second time in as many days that you have left a comment on my talk page about something that you have mis-identified. First was the reverting vandalism, now the argument. Both were false, so you kinda wasted your time typing those parts of those comments. Maybe all that time playing Pokemon Crater was affected you this way :)

Anyway, I'm not sure of my progress on Pokemon Crater right now, as the site has been down recently. I've been doing the trivia in the chat room though. Anyway, I've got 5 badges and my Pokemon are level 37 Charizard, 30 Luxray, 26 Cranidos, 23 Staravia, 11 Ghost Glameow, and 8 Metallic Drifloon.

Finally, I should still have enough time to keep up to date on the edits. I might have to take summer school (most likely I will) but that shouldn't stop me. I'm not going anywhere for vacation, as far as I'm aware. If anything should come up that I will need to take time away from editing for, I'll alert you. --Ksy92003 (talk) 06:22, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pokemon Crater[edit]

Oh, did you think the argument between Hornberry and I was about the "Edit summaries" section? Well, first of all, Hornberry understood what I was saying and he corrected himself. Anyway, in my english class, my teacher (who I can't stand and want to kill, but still I can't say his/her name to protect his/her privacy) taught us that when writing we have to try to not have so much a questionable tone in our righting. The reader might not understand by your words if you are happy or angry in your writing.

Anyway, enough with the English lecture. I myself can type about 75 words per minute. But that's when I have what I'm trying to type right in front of me. That's with 99.7% accuracy, also.

Now, the Pokemon Crater stats:

  • Win-Losses: 100-0*
I actually only have one loss. The only loss came when I was bored and took on Pryce at the Mahogany Gym. His guys were all above 70 and I had a 37 Charizard. I was bored and wanted to see if I could get any experience if I beat his Dewgong but lost the fight. Apparently I can't, but I wanted to try it.
In other words, I battled him, entering the fight knowing that I would lose. Therefore, I consider myself to be 100-0.
  • Points: 21.2
I'm not sure if this is the points you were talking about, but it's directly under the record. I'm not sure what this means, but compared to your 300, it's not good methinks.
  • Indigo League Badges Earned:
Cascade Badge (Water)
  • Johto League Badges Earned:
Zephyr Badge (Flying)
Hive Badge (Bug)
  • Hoenn League Badges Earned:
None
  • Sinnoh League Badges Earned:
Forest Badge (Grass)
Cobble Badge (Fighting)
  • Indigo/Johto Elite Four Defeated:
None
  • Hoenn Elite Four Defeated:
None
  • Sinnoh Elite Four Defeated:
None

First of all, why is "Kanto" called "Indigo" all of a sudden? Anyway, I caught my Ghostly Glameow and Metallic Drifloon yesterday before the site went down for maintenance. I spent the rest of my playing time in the chat room trying out the trivia. It's really cool, and really fast-paced. You should try it to put your knowledge to the test.

Is there anyway that I can go on Pokemoncrater.com and check out your stats, your team, and whatnot? If so, please tell me, cuz I want to compare myself to you. --Ksy92003 (talk) 13:34, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll make this short, sweet, and to the point; after I sent you the message, I added you to my friends list (gosh it sounds like Myspace all over again) and saw your Pokemon and all that stuff. Man, and you've been playing for a while already... I've got a lot of work to do to catch up to you. See you on Pokemoncrater! --Ksy92003 (talk) 13:07, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stats[edit]

Hey by the way, I am in Washington D.C this week to watch the Dodgers play the Nationals but I am also studying to become a politican eventually, and I need to focus on that. I will be able to update the stats on Friday, but I need help Wednesday and Thursday. If you can do it, please do, and if you can't I've told Ksy92003 not to erase them because I'll reupdate them Friday. I've got Tuesday's stats. Hornberry 01:59, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I have like a ten minute break every now and then. I will be back Friday. Just so you know, try to update the stats within 12 hours of each game so. It just looks best in the way Wikipedia must be kept up to date. Hornberry 02:26, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what you mean, I've got the stats updated through Tuesday's game, not Wednesday's. Hornberry 02:29, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No. I am 16, almost seventeen. But I am in Washington because some of the students from my high school were picked to go. I wanted to go because I wanted to be a politican. Hornberry 02:35, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Very well then. It's kind of hard to have the stats to do all the time, but it's kind of fun. BTW, see 2007 Major League Baseball All-Star Game. I just added it to my watchlist. Hornberry 02:38, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There's a time in mid May where I have testing, and a time in late January where I do a bunch of tests, but otherwise I will let Ksy92003 (if he is in charge of scheduling) for 2008, that I want to do 2008. If you still want to edit, and want to, I would love if you helped me and had your name down. Ksy92003 is not the person in charge of Wikiproject Baseball. I think he took it upon himself to help with the 2007 section and started being the head guy for that. Not for the whole wikiproject. Do you live in LA? Hornberry 02:44, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I did. I'm in 11th grade. Hornberry 02:50, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think so. Not through Wednesday's game at least. Hornberry 02:56, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I get them first hand from the box score at dodgers.com when updating 2007 Los Angeles Dodgers season. I've got to run because it's 11:00pm here. Back to busniess. Hornberry 03:00, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Howdy[edit]

First of all, I'm replying back to Hornberry's comment. I was gonna reply here anyway and thought I'd save time.

Anyway, I'm not in charge of the project by any means. However, I am the one who, not created the concept, but began organizing it. I was unsure about how many people would turn up to contribute to this project when I began the organizing phase.

Next, the All-Star game. I don't consider the All-Star game to be a part of the project. When I began the project, it was for the season articles. The All-Star game and playoff game articles have always been a part of it and I didn't feel any need to include that. If you want to work on that, then by all means do it.

Anyway, obviously I live in Long Beach, California. In May, we have the California Standard Tests and AP tests. Finals are coming up starting next Friday for me, with an SAT this Saturday. I, too, am in 11th grade. I don't have to take the CST tests next year, as I'll be a senior. But I haven't heard anything about college tests.

Sorry to bore you with all that nonsense. --Ksy92003 (talk) 05:23, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Haha this time I forgot to sign my comment :)
I guess I am the same age as Hornberry.
I'll also always back you up on the Dodgers/Angels/etc. articles. Fortunately 2 weeks of school left. Tomorrow is hard for me as I'm going to the Angels/Orioles game. Saturday I've got the SAT and an Arena Football game between the Avengers and Rush. After that, it's only studying for finals but then it's all smooth sailing and my edit count should dramatically increase again.
Until that time, could you please back me [and Hornberry] up on all the articles that our schoolwork is causing is to slack off on? Thanks. --Ksy92003 (talk) 05:23, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ouch... sorry. But tomorrow I have two projects due, a test, a baseball game, with a major test and football game the following day. I'm so crushed in work and play. Sorry about your projects. But thanks for backing me up :) --Ksy92003 (talk) 05:38, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mark Hendrickson[edit]

It's his starting stats that I have in a hidden comment next to his name in starting pitching. That way I don't have to look at his game log and I can just figure out his ERA right there. In case you didn't know I do ERA ER x 9 ÷ IP. So I have his ER and IP. I'll do the pitching stats now. I am now back from my trip, so if you want to keep doing the stats you may, but I'll be able to do it if you can't. Hornberry 14:22, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Editing the Game Log[edit]

Surprised you noticed that I used to have 4/5 on my userpage. Those were the ones that I had signed up for. But since I've been simply editing whichever ones needed editing, I've removed all but the Angels from my page; that's because the Angels are my favorite team and I make my main priority editing their page when I can. I also edit the Angels most frequently because I watch the games and when they end I already know the winning/losing pitchers and it's easier for me.

As for playing baseball, I don't really play. I'm more of a watch-sports-to-gain-knowledge kinda guy. I play sporadically, but only recreationally. As for your defensive play, what helps me is throw a tennis ball against your garage door and practice throwing the ball back to yourself. Gradually make it slightly tougher each time so you can begin to develop a faster eye and faster reaction time. Baseball is all about reaction time, and if you can master that you can master the art of fielding. When you first start to practice, especially when it comes to fly balls, use both hands to trap the ball in the glove. Then, learn how to use your glove to shield your eyes from the sun but still be able to see the ball. After time, you should have enough practice and experience to be able to handle the simplest plays without difficulty. It will be easier for you if you can overcome variables like the sun, the speed of a batted line-drive, and even the crowd noise. Just practice. Get used to the feel of your glove, make sure you can open it enough for the ball to enter it but still make sure you can close it without problems to trap the ball in the glove, again use both hands to catch the ball, and practice more. Practice ground balls by rolling the ball in your driveway, play catch with somebody, throwing the ball 150-some feet eventually, and throw the ball up in the air on a clear sunny day so you can learn to deal with the sun. That's all I can really say for right now... it is, afterall, 1:10 in the morning and I really should be getting to bed now. I really hope this helps you. If you've got any questions or want any more advice from me, then I'll be glad to help you. --Ksy92003 (talk) 08:12, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Leaders[edit]

First of all, you weren't the reason why I stayed up late. If you didn't know (I'm not sure who I told), I was at an AFL game between the Los Angeles Avengers and Chicago Rush. And I was doing other activities on the internet and I checked my Watchlist and saw that I had a new message from you.

Anyway, I wasn't planning on adding the leaders, per se, but if you wish, then I'll set up the table. I did the table the same way I did the game log's format and the player's stats' format. All you have to do is change the player's names and their total for whatever stat it is. Click to edit the "Stats" section and insert this at the bottom:

Rest of comment[edit]

This will create the model for the leaders' table. I couldn't get it to show up by ignoring Wiki formattion because it read it all in paragraph form. Just click on "Example" and copy that into the section as I told you earlier in this message. Just keep in mind, however, that as this is a player's stats, I might not edit it, as I've already made it public that I don't want to be responsible for it. If it's something like this though, then I might. --Ksy92003 (talk) 15:04, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Um, I guess I wouldn't mind working on the leaders for the 2007 MLB season. I'll work on it when I get the chance, most likely on Friday night. Unless you want to do it first. --Ksy92003 (talk) 05:26, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What to do...[edit]

You haven't got to do anything special. Just go to the project page and add your name to the members list. Then, just do whatever you want. You don't even have to join the project; just edit whichever articles you want. That's all.

By the way, I haven't played Crater in a while as I've been too busy. --Ksy92003 (talk) 05:42, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm pretty sure it has to do with the huge amount of information that the server constantly updates. Updating the standings means changing a couple numbers. But to update the stats, it's a lot more tedious of a job. MLB.com is a better site for up-to-date stats. --Ksy92003 (talk) 05:55, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

MLB Leaders[edit]

I'll try to do it if I remember. Fahima07 21:29, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

End of Year[edit]

I am very busy with my end of my year plans, and school plans, along with summer plans so I probably will be making 2 edits a day (2007 Dodgers Game Log), and the Stats for Dodger season, 2007. When I get a chance, I will start editing Wikinews (thanks for showing me that) and writing articles (summaries, boxscores) about specific games. Hornberry 01:21, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikinews admins[edit]

I don't know anyone off the top of my head, but there is a list. I imagine if you recognize a username it's probably also a Wikipedian. Natalie 06:14, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikinews[edit]

I just made an account there. Hornberry 01:35, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Time for Wikipedia[edit]

Nor do I. I am just editing the Dodger stats right now and nothing else. Hornberry 13:34, 8 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikinews later or next week. Too busy right now. Hornberry 20:35, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
School gets out Wednesday, and I'm now finished with all my projects but one. The Wikinews, will conclude of a game summary, updated Wins and Loss records, notable plays, scoring plays, and maybe some stats. We'll see. I think I will do my first baseball thing for Wikinews around July 1. Hornberry 02:13, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Roster moves[edit]

Do you think we should add a roster moves to the 2007 Dodgers page? Hornberry 14:43, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

5000 edits[edit]

I just made my 5000th edit today. NHRHS2010 Talk 02:11, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kicked from comp until July 1[edit]

I've been kicked from the computer until July 1 because I have too much work to do. You can update the Dodgers stats (I didn't do anything when the Dodgers were in Toronto these last three games) or you can wait until July 1 and I'll do it. Pass this on to User:Ksy92003. Hornberry 03:33, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dodger stats[edit]

I removed the Dodger stats because it was too much work for me. Hornberry 03:34, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

6000th edit and Wikibreak[edit]

Long time no see; Hope you remember me. I just made my 6000th edit and I will be going on a Wikibreak starting this Friday, July 27 until August 13, since I will be going to South Korea to go on a church retreat and visiting my relatives in Seoul. NHRHS2010 Talk 23:11, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Next time you go on a wikibreak, then you should post that on your userpage. Maybe I should wait until November or December to be an admin, whenever I am ready. I may make less edits now that I am a high school sophomore (and my sister is now in 8th grade). NHRHS2010 Talk 00:37, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Regarding my user page, I do like math because I am very good at it, but when I talked about my math teachers......check out my user page once more more carefully. NHRHS2010 Talk 00:41, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and remember that Wikipedia is not MySpace or Facebook. However, we can discuss Wikipedia things together. NHRHS2010 Talk 00:43, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am taking Honors Geometry, and you should someday register your email in My Preferences. Once again, Wikipedia is not MySpace or chat site (we don't want to get blocked, of course). NHRHS2010 Talk 00:47, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
My rate of editing is right in the middle, depending whether my computer is slow or not. Sometimes, I edit a lot, sometimes I am so busy that I don't edit as much. You can take a look at my userpage once more. And it is my sister that is in 8th grade; I am in 10th grade. Please set up your email in your preferences (you can even access it by clicking here) so that we can communicate. NHRHS2010 Talk 00:54, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
