I will be deciphering the various analytical frameworks of female masculinities such as: penis envy, female masculinity as a “defense mechanism” and the correlation between homosexuality and female masculinity. I will be analyzing the works of Robert Stoller and Judith Butler.
Comments on your sandbox draft[edit]
Hello Ilfinestrino! I read over your sandbox draft and have a few comments. First, you will need to have a lot more citations. Basically, everything you write on Wikipedia has to be verifiable through your citations. Wikipedia doesn't allow any original research or original arguments. Statements like "Those lacking a penis use their minds to create their explanation of why they are homosexuals instead of accepting that they could be a lesbian without a penis." definitely need a citation or they will quickly be removed from the article. Second, your existing draft is a bit too heavy on theory and jargon. Wikipedia articles should be written in a style that is accessible and understandable to as many readers as possible. Instead of jumping straight into analysis on how female masculinity is related to penis envy, start with the basics:
- How do women express masculinity? (Clothes, behavior, hairstyle, voice, etc.)
- What are some different masculine female identities? (tomboy, butch, drag king, bulldagger, diesel dyke, etc.)
- How is female masculinity related to LGBT culture?
- How has female masculinity been expressed in the media?
- How are masculine women treated in different cultures, and has that changed over time?
- How does female masculinity relate to or affect male masculinity?
