Online Quran Project

[edit]

See the notability tag on top: Online Quran Project. --Matt57 (talkcontribs) 21:02, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

See the top of the page: "This article may not meet the notability guideline for web content. ....". --Matt57 (talkcontribs) 19:37, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, basically, Wikipedia doesnt keep articles on things that are not notable (in other words, worthy of attention). So I cant make an article about my cat Gonzo unless well-known newspapers have talked about it. In other words, "Online Quran Project" cannot have an article unless you can show that reliable 3rd party sources have talked about it. Blogs and other small websites are not qualified as sources.

See the template and read the links, especially this one: WP:RS. --Matt57 (talkcontribs) 19:45, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. I will check again in a week or two and then will nominate it for deletion if references cant be found or if they are weak. Make sure you have atleast 2/3 strong references. --Matt57 (talkcontribs) 11:49, 22 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If even 20 websites only link to the Quran project website, thats not enough to establish notability. For that, atleast 2 or 3 reliable websites (nog blogs, no small or insignificant websites) must actually talk about the website in some detail.

The point is, no Tom/Dick/Harry website or any subject matter can get its own article here unless its important enough so I apologize but I will have to nominate it for deletion. When the deletion page is created, you can give arguments or add additional references which I'm afraid simply dont exist for this website, atleast yet. --Matt57 (talkcontribs) 01:24, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You could copy the article to this site. --Matt57 (talkcontribs) 01:38, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you didnt copy the article, I have requested a copy and will email it to other wiki websites like the one I linked above. --Matt57 (talkcontribs) 01:20, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Online Quran Project, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Online Quran Project. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Matt57 (talkcontribs) 01:33, 4 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
