Battle of Kagera[edit]

This is an amazing *series* of articles, all high quality!! Great work!! I understand you're dealing with assorted sources of varying quality, and I haven't checked my copy of A&H yet, but as far as I know there's no such thing as a "SAM 6" shoulder-fired SAM. Yes there's the SA-6, the Soviet system, tracked, but what seems much more likely is the SA-7 Grail. Hope this is helpful (and doesn't just repeat what you've already found!!). For the record about voting in debates with them, I understand there are grounds for concerns regarding meatpuppetry, but I stand by my rationale for my votes and never voted for anything other than what I thought was correct. Chief Susanne Wenger's title[edit]

Hello, Indy beetle.

I saw that you removed Chief Wenger's pre-nominal from the introduction of her article. I was wondering why.

I noticed that you stated in the edit summary that titles generally weren't included in introductions on Wikipedia. As I have said before, that is something that I would respect if it was generally applied across different cultures and honours systems. Why is Elton John referred to as Sir Elton Hercules John CH CBE in the introduction to his article if Chief Wenger can't be referred to as Chief Susanne Wenger MFR in the introduction to hers? This is patently unfair.

I will give you twenty-four hours to respond. If there are no further objections, I will restore the pre-nominal.

Removing MNTV hypothetical examples[edit]

I understand your concern about original research, but aren't example calculations the best way of explaining a voting system to readers? Wikipedia:No original research#Routine calculations is clear that doing calculations based on published theorems is not precluded by the "no original research" rule. @Eddie891: Looks mostly ready to go to me as well. The lead could probably use an expansion. More info will need to be incorporated about Morthor and UNOKAT, since these were major operations, but that probably won't come until those events get their own articles. Additional info on command structure may be userful, such as when Norbert Moke was made commander of the force. I have been looking around for some more information, but cannot find too much; Norbert Moke's date of appointment is annoyingly elusive, though it was around mid-1961. Certainly there's more detail to add for a prospective A-class or FA, but I think the article right now is reasonably comprehensive. @Eddie891: Ok so my reading of Kennes & Larmer indicates there's a lot more about the gendarme's activities during and after suppressing the rebellions in the Congo, particularly Tshombe's plot to use them to stage a return to power after he was exiled. @Eddie891: I can add it - the Congo Crisis is in my regular domain, though after that my background knowledge diminishes. Thank you for the article about "a Congolese politician, jurist, and law professor who served as first president of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Congo and was involved in the creation of two functional constitutions for the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Lihau was the first Congolese to ever receive a law degree and began his career in the midst of the Congo Crisis, serving in the justice ministry and authoring the Luluabourg Constitution. In 1968 he was appointed to the Supreme Court of Justice but was removed seven years later by dictator Mobutu after refusing to enforce a harsh sentence upon student protesters. He helped organize the political opposition to Mobutu in his later years and advocated for democracy until his death. Irving E. Carlyle[edit]

Hi Indy, I am a descendent of Irving Carlyle and have always been interested in his biography. In the same way Steven Pruitt's first article was about an ancestor, I hoped my first could be about one of my own most notable ancestors. He died well before I was born but I have worked over the past two years researching his life including talking to family members and lawyers from his firm, so I think I've gathered some valuable information to include. Hello, Indy! I wanted to ask whether you could take a look at Operation Dada Idi, an article I just created. Having finally gotten my hands on War in Uganda, I felt that enough information exists about the fighting around Mpigi to warrant an article; but perhaps I missed something. The intro and aftermath need more work anyway (I plan to expand these soon, but was too tired to do the rest today ^^), but you might also got some information from Mzirai etc. that might prove useful. Congolese names[edit]

I've been working on a draft article for Democratic Republic of the Congo naming conventions and wondered if you might have a take on it before it is moved to the mainspace? Many thanks for that. I've migrated it to Democratic Republic of the Congo naming customs by analogy to Spanish naming customs. I was vaguely hoping to create a Congolese version of Template:Family name hatnote off the back of it but am not sure what it would say exactly.
