November 2011

Thank you for your recent contributions, such as Darrell Lunsford. Getting started creating new articles on Wikipedia can be tricky, and you might like to try creating a draft version first, which you can then ask for feedback on if necessary, without the risk of speedy deletion. Do make sure you also read help available to you, including Your First Article and the Tutorial. You might also like to try the Article Wizard, which has an option to create a draft version. Thank you. I have userfied your recently deleted article to User:Inexpiable/Sandbox. You may find it helpful to raise it for for comment at WP:RFF. (talk) 14:13, 7 November 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Nobody is doubting the truth of this, but an article should provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. I think a police memorial website is hardly an objective source. Youtube is not acceptable as a reference, and in fact you should not have links to Youtube videos on wikipedia. That leaves the NY Times, which is fine as a reference, but there are two problems.
  • Please see this policy.
  • The newspaper article (and for that matter the memorial site) did not support everything in your article. If you are adding your own interpretation, that is OR

I made these changes. Some are MoS (times, marijuana isn't a proper noun), some pov — we can't know he was overwhelmed by the smell of marijuana, some factual — I don't think that even in Texas that the police can convict and imprison suspects without legal process. Look what I've done to the NY Times ref; using [url description] makes your refs look much more professional and easier to read than a bare url. Incidentally, why don't you give the murderers' names? If you're happy with the changes, then post it again, without Youtube, I won't delete it.Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:32, 8 November 2011 (UTC)

Banned from Television

Hi! A belated Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for working to improve the site by creating Banned from Television. However, the section titled "Controversy" had to be removed, because Wikipedia cannot accept unsourced material or original research. This includes material lacking cited sources, material obtained through personal knowledge, or which constitutes the an analysis or interpretation by the editor that is not found in cited sources. Wikipedia requires that the material in its articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable (usually secondary) sources explicitly cited in the article text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here. If you ever have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. :-) Nightscream (talk) 19:11, 24 May 2013 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Cúa hostage crisis

Hi! I noticed that you were the main creator of the 1998 Cúa hostage crisis article, thank you for creating it! I started translating it into Spanish even though I planned to do it months ago. I'm leaving this message because two other hostage crisis happened in Venezuela in previous years: the San Roman Tragedy in 1995 and the Terrazas del Ávila kidnapping in 1996. The main differences between these situations is that in these first two the rescue operations failed, resulting in the deaths of the hostages. I'm planning to create the articles in Spanish and I would be pleased of also translating them into English, so I thought you might be interested in helping. Cheers! --Jamez42 (talk) 05:17, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

I noticed a couple of the 2018 additions you put in were 9/11 related, but the instructions at the head of the list suggest they belong not there but at Emergency workers killed in the September 11 attacks. Dorsetonian (talk) 12:19, 26 February 2018 (UTC)

Tense

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Your recent edits to The Jeremy Kyle Show have incorrect uses of tense; our Manual of Style states that Wikipedia articles are always written in present tense, unless they discuss subjects who are deceased, that no longer meaningfully exist, or events that have previously occurred. Articles discussing products or works are always written in present tense, even if they are discontinued, as the discontinuation of a product or work does not always mean that it no longer exists in any form.

For more information about writing articles in the correct tense, please see the relevant sections Manual of style and our guide to Writing better articles If you have any questions about this, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Enjoy your time on Wikipedia. (This applies to TV shows which still exist even if they're no longer been aired. See MOS:TVLEAD and Talk:The Jeremy Kyle Show#Stop changing lead from "is" to "was".) You made an edit to the List of offenders executed in the United States in 2020-article, reverting an edit that removed John Henry Ramirez from the "List of offenders scheduled to be executed in the United States in 2020"-section and changed the number of currently scheduled executions and the number of people whose executions had been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Rollback granted

Hi Inexpiable. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Mz7 (talk) 05:36, 7 February 2021 (UTC)

Removal of an edit

So let me get this right, you've twice removed an edit from the list of Serial Killers, because the serial killer doesn't have his own wiki page, even though he is a serial killer?

"There is currently no Wikipedia page for that particular serial killer and there is no pending draft. The list is already reasonably long, if we started adding serial killers to the list without a Wikipedia page then the list would go on forever."

There are plenty of lists on Wikipedia which lists something that doesn't have it's own Wiki page. As for the length of the list, if it gets too big then why not make it into more than one page. I've not looked but I bet the person I added isn't back on the list which will make the list incomplete.
