PGNx Media deletion review, plus an apology

[edit]

Hi Infomanager. I'm sorry if you disagree with any of my comments. The PGNx Media article is on my watchlist because of the previous three deletions, two of which were bad-faith additions to Wikipedia by the site owner. You may be interested to know that the deletion history of any article can be found at Special:Log/delete by entering the article name. As I mentioned in the deletion review, I have no complaint about the article other than the original authorship, which presents problems with WP:SPAM.

In fact, I want to formally apologize to you, since I should really have been doing more to help you find the resources needed to improve the article. However, I was hoping that I could redirect your efforts before you felt it was necessary to resort to personal accusations. Please remember that any comments I make are my personal opinions and not to be considered as any more "right" or "wrong" than your own opinions. Wikipedia is a community driven by the notion of "consensus," and as such the goal is to provide a forum for discussion by various segments of the Wikipedia community. I assure you that the comments I have made are not directed at you, and they certainly don't reflect upon your ability as an editor or the quality of your edits. In fact, I look forward to collaborating with you on future CVG articles. We're always looking for enthusiastic editors, and it's always good to have editors who want to add new content (which requires the most time and effort).

Suffice to say, I would hope that you would be willing to set aside any personal misgivings you might have about me or my comments. I have tried to maintain a positive outlook and a civil tone, but clearly I have been remiss about offering assistance instead of criticism. Therefore, I would like to extend an olive branch, as well as an offer to seek help via my Talk Page on any Wikipedia-related matter. I'm certainly not the most knowledgeable editor, but I would be happy to help if I can.

Oh, one final comment; it's generally preferred that editors archive their talk pages instead of blanking them. You can find out more about this on the Wikipedia:Talk_page_guidelines page. Thanks, and happy editing! --Alan Au 06:33, 2 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:PGNxMedia122906.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:PGNxMedia122906.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

GamingNexus

[edit]

Ah, there is indeed an article about GamingNexus, but the current one is kind of sparse and really doesn't explain why it's a notable website; a mention of their Gamerankings status would help tremendously. Thanks! --Alan Au 16:50, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It has been established that you engaged in sockpuppetry by evidence presented here:
WP:RFCU/Infomanager, and you are therefore blocked for period of 1 week.
You're welcome to make useful contributions after the block expires.

Orphaned non-free image File:GameZoneLogo.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:GameZoneLogo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

PLEASE NOTE:

  • I am a bot, and will therefore not be able to answer your questions.
  • I will remove the request for deletion if the file is used in an article once again.
  • If you receive this notice after the image is deleted, and you want to restore the image, click here to file an un-delete request.
  • To opt out of these bot messages, add {{bots|deny=DASHBot}} to your talk page.
  • If you believe the bot has made an error, please turn it off here and leave a message on my owner's talk page.

Thank you. DASHBot (talk) 05:49, 7 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

GameStats

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on GameTab requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.) or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. mabdul 21:42, 12 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:GameZoneScreen010507.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:GameZoneScreen010507.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 16:43, 22 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of GameZone for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article GameZone is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/GameZone until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. GamerPro64 20:20, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
