August 2019[edit]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group or a web site, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing. Additionally, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block. To do so, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason for thinking that the block was an error, and publish the page. A tag has been placed on Draft:Infosim, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Request reason:

We made our first attempts with Wikipedia - unfortunately we always published the article instead of creating a template. So next time we'll do a relevance check and not "trash" the encyclopedia. We hope that our account will be restored, we are well aware of the guidelines. Yours sincerely

Decline reason:

Accounts cannot be shared or represent a group; you will need to select a single individual to exclusively operate this account. That person will need to propose a new username that complies with the username policy and indicates that a specific individual is using this account(your real name is not required). I am aware that on the German Wikipedia business names as account names are permitted and even encouraged, but they are not allowed here on the English Wikipedia. You will also need to review WP:PROMO, conflict of interest and paid editing, all policies you have also violated. You won't be unblocked to continue to edit about your company; if you want to edit about other subjects, subjects for which you have no conflict of interest, please tell what those might be. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 10:18, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Obviously not, at least not WP:USERNAME WP:PROMO WP:PAID WP:COI WP:V WP:NOSHARE. Victor Schmidt mobil (talk) 09:50, 23 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Dear 331dot, Dear Victor Schmidt mobil, thank you very much for your very fast and honest feedback on our block request! You are right with your assumption that we have mistakenly thought that equally to the German Wikipedia, we should also use a business name for the English Wikipedia Editing. Now, that we do understand that we formally seem to break some of the rules stated in WP:USERNAME WP:PROMO WP:PAID WP:COI WP:V WP:NOSHARE, could you please give us a recommendation what would be the rightful and formally correct way to have pages about Infosim and StableNet appear in Wikipedia in the same way as there are numeruous pages about other businesses/companies and products? We really do assure again that we do not want to advertise in any way but just want to provide neutral information as existing in Wikipedia in similar pages of other companies. Thank you very much in advance for your help & Greetings from Würzburg!

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only; this is not an unblock request. Yamla (talk) 12:11, 27 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Dear Yamla, thank you very much for the quick feedback and sorry for the procedural mistake! Could you please advise us in which other formally correct way we can repeat above request to receive an answer from your team? Thank you very much in advance!

You will not be allowed to make any such request as long as you are blocked. You will not be unblocked until:

If you have no interest in editing Wikipedia beyond writing about your organisation, then you will not be unblocked. If this is the case, I recommend you consider alternative outlets. Yunshui  06:58, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Yunshui, thank you very much for the quick and very helpful answer! Points 1 and 2 in your bullet list are very clear to us. Please allow just one clarifycation question regarding the 3rd and 4th point. Does this mean that none of the existing company and product articles in Wikipedia have been created by the company themselves (point 3) or anyone paid by the company (point 4) or is there still a valid, "legal" way of letting a neutral article being created by the company itself or by a person paid to do so? We are quite sure that we have seen other Wikipedia articles that as a matter of fact have been created by the companies/product vendors themselves. Thanks in advance for your help! PS: regarding point 5 and your final comment: we are definitely more than willing to also contribute to other Wikipedia articles about topics that touch our subject matter expertise in order to let everyone benefit of this. So, we do explicitly not just want to write about our own organization.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Infosim (talkcontribs)
I hope you don't mind, but i dropped your question out of the "unblock request" template. If you keep adding unblock requests that do not directly address the problems, you will eventually have this page locked - best to just ask questions like this normally. You question about points 3 and 4 are immaterial to the request; poor behavior by others is not an excuse. We're looking for you to address each item specifically, including proposing a new username and limiting this account to one user. Kuru (talk) 14:25, 6 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
