Image without license[edit]

Unspecified source/license for File:Crystal5.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Crystal5.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. File source and copyright licensing problem with File:BirdsOfOpulence.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:BirdsOfOpulence.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Infobox image in a biography of a living person must be a free image[edit]

I have reverted your change of the image in the infobox at the top of Crystal Wilkinson. The problem is that the photo you're trying to add has no information on its license. Unless the image can be demonstrated to be under a free license, we cannot use it in that infobox. Since the source website does not mention a license, we must assume it's an all-rights-reserved license.

Non-free images—like the covers of books—can be used in some circumstances, but since it's possible to get a free image of the author, we can't use a non-free image in the infobox. —C.Fred (talk) 20:28, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

To clarify on the book covers: if there were an article about the book, the cover could be used for identification. In the author about Wilkinson, the covers could only be used if there were significant discussion of the work or its cover. —C.Fred (talk) 20:32, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
