Fair use rationale for Image:Woth.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Woth.jpg. The image description page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 15:07, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Languages

Hi There! Can you translate my name in what language you know please, and then post it Here. I would be very grateful if you do (if you know another language apart from English and the ones on my userpage please feel free to post it on) P.S. all th translations are in alpahbetical order so when you add one please put it in alpahbetical order according to the language. Thanks!!! Abdullah Geelah 16:49, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the late reply; I've been neglecting Wikipedia ever since my exams ended. Well, I think this is a great idea, (I'm guessing you saw my contribution to Cool Cat's page!) but all the languages I know have already been translated on your page. Good luck with getting more translations though! ~Mr Inky 22:34, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Heh, it's OK, there's a real wealth of info on it to be had. And yesterday... I just went on a roll. I was like a junkie. Now there's just the issue of The Beyond and Cult of Luna, all looking nasty and redlinky. I've started both at points, but got past the infobox and gone "I can not be arsed". Maybe... you can start them and I'll go on a rampage or something and link in shitloads of reviews and interviews or something. In the spirit of wiki, it makes sense. Seegoon 14:23, 26 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was in the mood for a bit of wikiing, so I started The Beyond. I would have started Cult of Luna too, but I have yet to hear that album so it just doesn't seem right! ~Mr Inky 00:28, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would tell you that this revert of yours is not accepted by many. LB are classified more as nu metal than rapcore. -- Egr (talk), 28/8/2006

Sorry about that; I wasn't sure which way the genres were originally. I reverted because half of the article had been removed. ~Inkuh 21:55, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Limp Bizkit is rapcore and elements nu metal. Your edition is OK. User:Egr is real vandal! LUCPOL 22:06, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please Inkington, believe me. Lucpol is continuing to accuse me of vandalism, because he doesn't absolutely agree with some of my edits about Rapcore, Limp Bizkit and Fred Durst. Instead of discussing seriously, he engages against me edit wars, also through some sockpuppets. -- Egr (talk), 9/7/2006
After looking at some of the edits, I think you're right; LUCPOL does seem to be using sockpuppets. I still don't think that constant reverting is a good thing though. Consider asking an admin to investigate; if he continues to be a nuisance, you might be able to get him blocked.
Anyway, I've crossed out the bit that says you're a vandal. Free speech may be good, but false accusations are definitely not; I think this is a good compromise! :) ~Inkiиgton 16:11, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please Inkington, believe me. Egr is continuing to accuse me of vandalism, because he doesn't absolutely agree with some of my edits about Rapcore, Limp Bizkit and Fred Durst - see: [1]. Instead of discussing seriously, he engages against me edit wars, also through some sockpuppets - Malfunction, Maxcap, BabuBhatt. PS. See: [2], [3], [4], [5]. This is vandalism from Egr. Or what? LUCPOL 16:52, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, please take this discussion somewhere else. I don't want an edit war to start on my talk page. Thanks. ~Inkiиgton 20:00, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to WikiProject CS

Hi! Just noticed that you have signed on as a participant in WikiProject Computer science, and wanted to welcome you to the project. Please stop by the project talk page to see what the other participants have on their minds right now, and to add your own thoughts. --Allan McInnes (talk) 19:48, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the welcome! I'm looking forward to trying this. I just finished my first year of studying CS, so hopefully I'll be able to put it to good use! ~Inkington 19:52, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Esperanza!

Welcome, Inkington, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is Stressbusters, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Natalya by email or talk page. Consider introducing yourself at the Esperanza talk page! Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

Thanks for reverting the obvious vandalism! I have to admit, though, that it was a funny edit :) -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 14:38, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Heh, no problem! It was pretty funny; the "performance enhancing drugs" bit coupled with this loon photo makes me giggle. ~Inkington (oi!ë) 14:43, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

user page plagiarism

This chap seems to have copied your user page and made some minor changes. He has, however, left many things intact. (Links to your other Wikipedia accounts, your blog, etc.) I just wanted to bring this to your attention. f(x)=ax2+bx+c 05:45, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've never actually run across this before, so I don't know how to handle it either. I'd ask one of the friendly admins if they have any advice ;) f(x)=ax2+bx+c 20:01, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, I'll try that. Cheers! ~Inkiиgton 20:03, 7 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, my first award. Thank you! f(x)=ax2+bx+c 02:02, 14 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The vandals just got blocked, thankfully, so that should be the end of that. Thanks, though.

Advertising

I was advertising using Wikipedia. I'm sorry. I will not do it again. Please do not block me from editing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.23.82.151 (talk)

Personally I wouldn't block you, since I've given a warning and you seem to have accepted it. If anyone has decided to block you though, it may only last for a short while, assuming you don't have a history of vandalism. I'd recommend signing up for an account, and consider making good faith edits to Wikipedia. You won't have to worry about being blocked then! ~Inkiиgton 23:55, 11 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

September Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: Barnstar Brigade
Here in Wikipedia there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go unappreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go unnoticed. As Esperanzians we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. This is where the Barnstar Brigade comes in. The object of this program is to seek out the people which deserve a Barnstar, and help them feel appreciated. With your help, we can recognize more dedicated editors!
What's New?
September elections are upon us! Anyone wishing to be a part of the Advisory Council may list themselves as a candidate from 18 September until 24 September, with the voting taking place from 25 September to 30 September. Those who wish to help with the election staff should also list themselves!
Appreciation Week, a program currently in development, now has its own subpage! Share your good ideas on how to make it awesome there!
The Esperanza front page has been redesigned! Many thanks to all who worked hard on it.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  1. The proposals page has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  2. Since the program in development Appretiaion week is getting lots of good ideas, it now has its own subpage.

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

Congrats

I hereby award Inkington the RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar for his great vandalism fighting! --NauticaShades 12:38, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

November Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!)
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.

Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  • The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  • There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
  • The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
  • In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
  • A discussion of Esperanza's role in Wikipedia is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted!
  • Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.

Re: Layout

I'm sorry about the code. I swear I didn't mean to cause trouble. I'm just new to this section and your profile really impressed me; so I thought about just copying it to review it and try to understand it. I just forgot to erase it later. You know if you want to be good, you better learn from the people who are good. I apologize again. I'm erasing it... (ups, no need to do that now).

Thank you, Forastero

Fair enough. Good to know you didn't mean to cause any harm, at least! :) ~Inkiиgton 22:39, 25 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Happy birthday!

Rock music Wikiproject invitation

Hello WikiProject Metal member.
WikiProject Metal music is important in expanding encyclopedic coverage of the metal. It brings attention to the lesser-known bands, and significantly improves the quality of the famous ones. Five Featured articles and two formers is proof of that.
This is the stuff I wish to achieve with the somewhat recently resurrected WikiProject Rock music. I hope to also attract attention to rock music articles of all sorts, and hopefully change some to GA or FA status. I invite you to come join us, and embrace the links between metal and rock music in general.
Rock on.

Image:Abaddon-Incarnate-small.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Abaddon-Incarnate-small.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Rettetast 20:09, 25 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
